New Enterprise-Class SSDs P420m from Micron

Micron Technology, a well-known designer of RAM modules and solid-state drives, finally launches a new enterprise-class series of SSDs. Codenamed P420m, the new-comers are the true followers of P320h drives, but they are ready to offer more than their predecessors. According to Micron, its new entries feature voluminous capacities and ensure high reliability; however, their price range is far more reasonable than other corporate-class products.

SSDs P420m come in two variations: as standard 2.5-inch drives with PCI Express x4 interface or as HHHL (half-height half-length) expansion cards with PCI Express x8 interface. Both species are based on MLC NAND flash-memory, developed under 25 nm technological process. They support a brand XPERT technology (Extended performance and enhanced reliability technology) that ensures genuine reliability and prolonged lifespan. On conditions of daily employment (i.e. wholesome fourfold rewriting operations), the MTBF index makes up five years. … …

Greeting New Graphics Card GTX 760 DirectCU Mini from Asus

Asus introduces to the European market its newest graphics card Asus GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU Mini (codename GTX760-DCMOC-2GD5) that is distinguished by compact dimensions. The model is based on a shortened PCB with PCI-e 3.0 x16 interface, featuring 170x120x40 mm dimensions. This provides for its employment in the cooperation with small-sized mini-ITX motherboards. The new-comer is equipped with a two-slot cooler, embracing a vapor chamber and a high-efficient CoolTech Fan of an original framework.

The heart of the adapter is GK104 GPU that contains 1152 CUDA cores, 32 ROPs, and 92 TMUs. The core is factory-overclocked to 1006 MHz (nominal index) frequency with the peak point at 1072 MHz on GPU Boost 2.0 activation. Memory subsystem is represented by GDDR5 modules with 256-bit interface; its overall capacity makes up 2 GB. The modules run at overclocked frequencies as well, reaching an effective point of 6008 MHz.

PowerColor Outs an Overclocked Radeon R9 270 OC Graphics Card

Along with other AMD partners, PowerColor has elaborated its own version of Radeon R9 270 adapter. The PowerColor Radeon R9 270 OC is differentiated from rival products by an improved cooling system and factory overclocked frequencies. Its release is scheduled for late November and the retail price won’t hit over $180.

To begin with, this graphics card is naturally based on AMD Curacao Pro GPU, developed under 28 nm technological process. It consists of 1280 current processors, 32 ROPs and 64 TMUs. The core runs at 930 MHz frequency and is able to gain 955 MHz frequency on overclocking. The incorporation of GDDR5 memory (2 GB) with 256-bit bus interface ensures some striking bandwidth of 180 Gb/sec; this provides for the support of gaming applications with high resolution. Memory chip operates at 1400 MHz nominal frequency but might gain the index of 5600 MHz of effective frequency on overclocking.
