SilverStone Announces a Powerful CPU Fan FHP141

SilverStone Technology, a well-known Taiwanese designer of PC peripherals, announces the release of its new powerful fan codenamed FHP141. The model features 140 mm dimensions and weighs not more than 220 g. It is chiefly intended at the integration into highly efficient CPU cooling systems to provide for the utmost cooling effect. However, the manufacturer hasn't voiced the exact release date or recommended price yet.

Fan SilverStone FHP141 is enclosed into a black frame and houses wide impeller section with seven blades. It is based on a durable dual ball bearing and is estimated for one hundred fifty thousand hours of foolproof operation in average; that is considered to be a good ratio for such type of fans. This model is distinguished by the implementation of PWM speed monitoring system that adjusts rotational speed on changeable conditions.

The manufacturer has presumed dual rotational template for its FHP141 fan: Quiet and Power modes. The alteration of modes is …

Intel to Release CPU Avoton in Late 2013

Intel is known to develop CPU solutions for different types of systems, including home-based compact platforms, as well as corporate server systems. Not so long ago the company announced the decision to introduce its new solution for micro-servers, codenamed Bordenville, which is based on Centerton CPU. A new platform is going to provide good performance characteristics in combination with multifarious facilities. Still, Intel decided to move on and improve the platform for this segment by a more efficient product. Under the preliminary data, the company is going to develop another platform, codenamed Edisonville, based on Avoton processor.

According to the forecasts, Intel Avoton will be able to demonstrate a better performance per watt, as compared with Centerton or Haswell CPUs. Avoton will be notable for the integration of USB, SATA and GbE facilities; thus, the platform will accommodate a couple of SATA III ports, two SATA II ports, four USB 2.0, and four gigabit Ethernet …

Intel can provide “successor” Core i7-3770K at the beginning of the next year

According to proven sources, Intel is considering the release the more rapid alternative to quad processor Core i7-3770K, which currently heads the line of Ivy Bridge to the mass market. This happens if the Corporation of Santa Clara will feel the hard pressure from the only competitor (AMD), which is actively working on the first chip Piledriver — FX-8350, FX-8320 and FX-8300. The release of a hypothetical «Core i7-3790K» with a frequency of 3.6 GHz can be held in the I quarter 2013.

The version of «3770-th» with blocked by increased factor (without the suffix K) will not be finished later, in the II quarter of next year, will give way to one of the members of the family Haswell.

Accordingly, the reinforcements will receive the platform LGA2011, which now covers the rear of the quad-core Core i7-3820. Strategies at Intel, most probably also will be limited to the addition of 100 MHz. About a year later models Sandy Bridge-E recede into the background in favor of …
