P2418HT and P2418HZ – the Innovative IPS-panel Monitors from Dell

Recently at CES 2017, the Dell Co. has introduced P2418HT and P2418HZ monitors.

P2418HT is also called Dell 24 Touch Monitor and possesses a touch screen, and P2418HZ is otherwise named Dell 24 Monitor for Video Conferencing and is equipped with everything required for respective activities, like, for instance, a 2.1 MP IR-webcam, another IR-camera, two omnidirectional microphones and two embedded speakers with overall capacity of 10 W. Dell P2418HT has a glare filter and recognizes up to 10 taps at a time.

Both specialties feature 23.8” Full HD IPS-panels, the 250 cd/m2 brightness factor and the 1000:1 contrast ratio. Besides, these devices cover 83–84 % of the CIE 1976 colour gamut.

The interface is represented by one DisplayPort 1.2, one D-Sub, one HDMI 1.4, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports.

P2418HT and P2418HZ will come in retail in the USA on the 12th of January. The first model costs approximately $400, and the second – about $330.

AMD FX-8300 is Already in Retail Trade

Despite the fact that AMD initially scheduled the official release of FX-8300 for 29 December, this CPU can already be found in some Japanese retail stores. Such sudden appearance in free sale allows all potential consumers to get assured in all claimed specifications. Thus, FX-8300 is an eight-core chip of the new generation that is characterized by 95W TDP level. This is a kind of a breakthrough, since its Vishera companions, FX-8350 and FX-8320, consume up to 125W power.

The reduction of power consumption is explained by the decrease of CPU clock frequencies and nominal voltage showings. Hence, the nominal clock frequency recorded with this CPU model makes up 3.3GHz, while in Turbo mode the frequency rises to 3.6GHz. Some resources state that FX-8300 is able to overclock up to 4.2GHz, however, this info is not vindicated so far. This chip is developed specifically for Socket AM3+.

Taking into account such parameters, analysts feel difficulty in predicting the future of …

Processors Intel Haswell to Rival Accelerator NVIDIA Tesla

Intel Corporation has the intentions to introduce DDR4 memory into their server processors of Haswell series. The launch of such technological approach is planned for the 2014, however the developments in this sphere have already started. Intel’s server solutions will become a part of Grantley platform and the samples of their new series will allegedly be announced next autumn. The preview of new processors makes it clear that some of the chips will be distinguished by the increased heat generation performance which will reach 160 W.

Hence, 16-core processors Haswell-EP will rival parallel computing accelerator NVIDIA Tesla but not AMD server solutions. Intel is going to provide various working frequency options and options with different number of active cores. At the same time, TDP will fluctuate within ranges of 160, 145, 135, and 120 W. In its turn, accelerator NVIDIA Tesla, which is based on GK110 processor, consumes approximately 300 W.
