New Budgetary Chassis K380 from Cooler Master

Cooler Master announces the release of a new entry-level chassis K380 (RC-K380-KWN1). This model will replenish the K Series of products and will feature mid-tower parameters (209x445x479 mm overall dimensions). K380 is basically intended at gamers, due to an eye-catching design: the chassis is housed in a solid casing made of steel and plastic with some aggressive inclusions and details. However, the major distinctive peculiarity ascribed to the newbie is its moderate price that will not exceed the border of $80. WD Prepares Voluminous Re+ HDDs for Data Centers

Western Digital announces a new high-capacity 3.5-inch HDD for data centers. The WD Re+ will be available in versions of up to 6 TB. All of them are designed with power-saving ideas in mind; hence, their maximal power consumption index does not go above 6 W. The new-comer employs five-platter architecture and SATA 6 Gb/sec interface that guarantees the maximal efficiency level. Moreover, its MTBF index approximates 1.2 million hours on average workload index of 550 TB per year.



The WD Re+ is distinguished by the following advantages:

— the incorporation of dual actuator positioning system that improves the drive’s working efficiency;

The growth of laptop shipments in the second quarter was 5%

Global laptop shipments have faced with glut stocks in March and a weakening global economy in May. That caused the situation of reaching a growth of supply in the second quarter of the year only for 5% compared with the previous, and it fell by 1.8% compared with this period year ago. Shipments totalled just over 50 million units, according to analysts.



Numbers of Acer and Lenovo laptop shipments were at the average level on the world market in comparison the first quarter of the year. Shipments of mobile PCs from HP, Dell and Toshiba have fallen to 4-7%. Most of all with the increase of supply by 36% managed its shipment the ASUS Company.


It is interesting that HP may soon lose its title of leader in the laptop market — China's Lenovo breathes down its neck, lagging behind only with 500,000 units.
