Intel Broadwell CPUs will Get BGA Casing

The Internet community is energetically discussing unofficial info concerning the future Intel's Broadwell processors. Kingston and Adata Come up with M.2 SSDs

Within the framework of Computex 2014 both Kingston and Adata are going to introduce their fresh SSD series of M.2 form-factor. In keeping with the manufacturers’ words, the products – SM2280S2 and SR1020NP — are differentiated by some spectacular performance. At present the companies provide only basic info about the drives, leaving their fans in suspense.

Kingston SM2280S3 is based on Phison PS3108 that supports SATA 6 Gb/sec interface only. It ensures 540 MB/sec and 514 MB/sec speed on sequential Read/Write operations. For sure, it’s not the performance innovative M.2 drives should demonstrate (about 10 Gb/sec), although the model considerably surpasses traditional HDDs in this respect.

This SSD series is represented by three models of 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB capacity. All of them employ DDR3 cache-memory with the minimal 256 MB capacity. Besides, the difference in efficiency between other M.2 offers Kingston promises to compensate by a more affordable price.

Arctic Cooling Unveils New Freezer i32 & A32 CPU Coolers

Arctic Cooling AG replenishes its line of CPU coolers with a couple of new-comers. The Freezer i32 and the Freezer A32 feature analogous dimensions (123x95x150 mm), but are targeting to work with different platforms. The first model is compatible with Intel Socket LGA 2011 and 115x platforms, whereas the second version is predestined for the CPUs targeting AMD AM2/AM2+, AM3/AM3+, FM1 and FM2 platforms.

Arctic Cooling Freezer i32 & A32 consist of an aluminum heatsink with 45 thin plates and four U-shaped 6-mm copper heatpipes which support direct touch technology. It goes without saying that these coolers come equipped with a fan. This is a 120 mm propeller that supports PWM technology; the latter enables the change of rotational speed from 0 to 1350 RPM. The maximal TDP level of the catered CPUs should not exceed 150 W.
