Greeting a New Powerful CPU Cooler ‘Lucifer’ from Deepcool

Deepcool Industries, an established developer of high-efficient cooling solutions, introduces its new CPU cooler with a horrendous name Lucifer. This cooler features 140x110x168 mm tower-like framework that is ready to manage the heat produced by any up-to-date desktop processor platforms from Intel (LGA2011, 1366, 1156, 1155, 775) and AMD (Socket FM1, FM2, AM3, AM3+, AM2, AM2+).

Deepcool Lucifer embraces a voluminous heatsink section that contains thirty-six nickel-plated aluminum ribs, six U-shaped, nickel-plated copper heat pipes, and a single 140 mm fan. The latter employs a hydrodynamic bearing and is governed by PWM technology. Fan speed might vary from 700 RPM to 1400 RPM; the maximal airflow produced by the fan approximates 81.33 CFM, while the maximal noise level does not exceed the margin of 31 dB.

It should be mentioned that this cooler is able to remove up to 130 W heat in passive mode (without a fan). The availability of a thermal compound in the nominal …

Akasa Prepares Its Euler for Upcoming Release

Recent global IT exhibition Computex 2012 has given promising prospects for Akasa company that introduced its new brand chassis. Codenamed Euler, this chassis might serve the basis for the noiseless mini-PCs. Due to the implementation of aluminum casing in design and its simultaneous substitute of a radiator, this device is able to function along with passive cooling system.

Akasa representatives have provided the Internet community with the first shots of Euler. Those pictures demonstrate that the future product will consist of a block which will remove the excessive heat from the CPU and its surrounding components. The model will support devices which show up to 35W TDP index. This chassis will be compatible with motherboards of mini-ATX form-factor and low-capacity two-core processors.

According to the words of the company's representatives, Euler is going to be released this September. The price policy has not been voiced so far, but hardware specialists are certain …

Power Supply Unit Huntkey GS550 Review

Huntkey Enterprise Group is a comparatively new player in the global PSU market. However, its products are already well-known to the mainstream customers in different corners of the world. GS series is the one to compete with an army of items from acclaimed manufacturers, featuring so far only two models: GS450 and GS550. Giving names to the models, Huntkey applied a popular marketing approach, where the figure index in the codename exceeds actual wattage index of the unit. Thus, GS550 model is estimated actually for 450 W power. What other surprises are hidden in this model? Let’s find out.

Key Specifications

Power supply unit Huntkey GS550 is housed in a solid case, made of a thick dark-gray steel with a wiry ventilation grid. All basic specifications are marked on the sticker, so that the user can easily integrate it within the system. The +12VDC rail is claimed to provide 384 W power at 32 A current. The interrelation of power on this rail with an overall efficiency …
