EK to Start Selling FC7970 Matrix Waterblock in Early March

EK Water Blocks is about to put on sale its VGA waterblock, designed specifically for Asus ROG Matrix HD 7970 graphics card. Codenamed EK-FC7970 Matrix, the product will become available in retail sale already on 8 March and will cost approximately €110. Such price is justified by the utmost heat management facilities that ensure 100% percent reliability.



EK-FC7970 Matrix belongs to the echelon of waterblocks with full coverage. Its base is made of nickel-plated copper, its rear backplate – of anodized aluminum, and its lid – of acetal. The model shows compatibility with all standard fittings of G1/4 dimensional type.


It should be mentioned that EK Water Blocks furnished its new creation with all necessary fastenings, a backplate, and a mounting plate; the latter takes only two slots, unlike a nominal Asus ROG Matrix HD 7970 plate which takes three slots. AMD Officially Introduces Radeon HD 7790 Graphics Card

An official introduction of a new graphics card from AMD, entitled Radeon HD 7790, has been settled into a dedicated press briefing. Within the framework of this briefing, the company not only gave a detailed description of a long-awaited product but also divulged a comparative performance analysis with its main rival’s adapter – Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti. Therefore, AMD Radeon HD 7790 graphics card belongs to mainstream items and is targeting a wide range of customers. It is based on AMD Bonaire GPU with AMD GCN architecture developed under 28 nm technological process. The GPU consists of 896 current processors, 14 computing blocks, 56 texture blocks, and 16 ROP blocks.



Video memory subsystem comprises 1 GB of GDDR5 memory type, employing 128-bit bus. Its nominal clock frequency equals to 1500 MHz, while effective frequency makes up 6000 MHz. Haswell processors for laptops will consume up to 57 W, desktop - up to 100

Intel provides with three graphics levels: GT1, GT2 and GT3. Desktop processors won’t receive graphics performance higher than GT2, but mobile processors will be able to boast of with GT3 class. Support of PCI Express 3.0 for Haswell processors will be quite usual characteristics, but at the memory controller little progress is seen — yet provides dual-channel DDR3-1600.



By energy consumption Haswell desktop versions will be divided into models with values of 35, 45, 65 and 95 watts of TDP level. For mobile processors the values are ​​37, 47 and 57 W. Finally, ultra book processors with built-in system logic will be filled by TDP level not more than 15 watts. It is assumed that this will enable them, among other things, be in standby mode up to 10 days without charge.
