LEPA to Release MX-F1 and MaxGold 1000 PSUs

LEPA is ready to release a new series of entry-level power supply units entitled MX-F1. The series counts three models of 400 W, 500 W and 600 W capacity: N400-SA-EU, N500-SA-EU and N600-SA. In addition, the company has expanded its MaxGold line with a flagship 1000-watt model. It corresponds to Intel ATX12V 2.4 standard and employs an optimized hardware design.

To begin with, MX-F1 PSUs offer 87% of ultimate efficiency. Operating at 20%/50%/100% loading, they are able to achieve 82%/85%/82% efficiency correspondingly. Nonetheless, the models cannot receive 80Plus Bronze certificate, since they feature limited voltage input range. All the models within the series employ a single +12V rail and boast a non-modular design.

This promotes for the connection of middle-efficiency components. They support Active PFC and a wide spectrum of protective functions (over-voltage, over-current, over-power, short-circuit). Cooling of internal components is ensured by a single 120 mm fan. …

Meet the Companies with Most Vulnerable Software

Malicious software has become a real catastrophe for the majority of companies that make business on the development of programs and applications. It’s barely possible to avoid the attacks of intruders in spite of the incessant improvement of security systems. Statistics speak of thousands new viruses emerging every day which can damage the software and devices upon the whole. In this light, developers of antivirus systems take a permanent control over all emerging malicious applications and put records of all attacks incited by them.

The first quarter of 2012 was not an exception and was marked by the entrance of new viruses into the scene. Trend Micro Company which specializes in development of antivirus programs has published a regular listing of the most vulnerable software for the first quarter of the current year. Apple with ninety-one vulnerabilities heads the listing. It should be also underlined that Apple is the current leader in the quantity of patches released for …

New Voluminous External SSDs with Thunderbolt Ports from LaCie

Demands of customers towards external SSD solutions are even tougher than towards traditional built-in drives. This is primarily explained by the aesthetic considerations, and secondly, by the space taken by the device. LaCie has recently announced the release of two external SSD models which are differentiated by an extraordinary design. The upcoming drives are codenamed LaCie Little Big Disk Thunderbolt and will be delivered in two capacity variations: 512 GB and 1 TB. Last year the manufacturer introduced a similar model line but with smaller capacity (up to 240 GB) and different interface (SATA II).

New LaCie LittleBig Disk Thunderbolt drives feature SATA III interface and are based on two 2.5-inch SSDs. Those drives might be combined into different RAID configurations (RAID 0, 1). Upon the whole, the models are housed in ultramodern aluminum casing which serves two purposes: aesthetic and practical. Their design can be described as stylish and refined, while the casing …
