Seven-Port USB 3.0 Hub H7988-U3 from Orico

Chinese company Orico has just voiced good news for all people craving for a comprehensive device which enables numerous USB 3.0 connections. Its new seven-port hub H7988-U3 is able to satisfy the needs of any customer who feels the need for several simultaneous USB 3.0 connections. This is not the first Orico's attempt to produce a really multi-functional device. The company has recently introduced PC expansion chip with PCI Express x1 interface which involved seven ports as well. Analogous functionality has been implemented in a new external hub H7988-U3.

Orico H7988-U3 goes in two color variants (black and white) and is based on VIA VL801 controller. The framework of the hub is rather suitable for the multi-connection operations. Intel provides with three graphics levels: GT1, GT2 and GT3. Desktop processors won’t receive graphics performance higher than GT2, but mobile processors will be able to boast of with GT3 class. Support of PCI Express 3.0 for Haswell processors will be quite usual characteristics, but at the memory controller little progress is seen — yet provides dual-channel DDR3-1600.

IEI Releases Small-Type Motherboards Kino-CVR-D25502/N26002

IEI has replenished its line of products with a motherboard series intended for application in small-type home PCs due to the implemented mini-ITX form-factor. All previous products of this manufacturer were basically oriented on the enterprise sector, however IEI decided to widen its facilities by developing quite new motherboards for home use. The series is represented by two models: Kino-CVR-D25502 and N26002 which have got a lot of common, as well as, different parameters.

In fact, the major distinctions between the two models can be dwindled down to the implemented processors. Kino-CVR—D2550 employs two-core Intel Atom processor D2550, while N26002 model is equipped with Intel Atom 2600. The difference is seen also in clock frequencies and RAM volume capacities. D2550 is able to achieve 1.86 GHz and is notable for 4 GB RAM capacity; N2600 achieves 1.6 GHz and characterizes by only 2 GB RAM capacity.
