Intel Debuts with Skull Canyon NUC Mini-PC

Skull Canyon was designed to dispel stereotypes about low efficiency of compact-sized PCs. Intel tried hard to take its mini-PC to the next level. Hence, the company furnished it with a 4-core Core i7-6770HQ CPU (Skylake) with support of Hyper-Threading. It features 6 MB L3 cache, 45 W TDP and runs at 2.6/3.5 GHz frequency. The CPU incorporates Intel Iris Pro Graphics 580 (GT4e) graphics core with 72 computing units and an additional eDRAM of 128 MB (frequency index: 350-950 MHz).

Intel Skull Canyon is housed in a stylish case with skull logo, featuring 216x116x23 mm dimensions & 0.7 liters capacity. The model accommodates a pair of So-DIMM DDR4-2133+ slots, allowing to install up to 32 GB of memory. Storage subsystem might be organized thanks to a pair of M.2 slots which support SSDs with SATA or PCI Express x4 interface.

This mini-PC comes with Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8260 adapter that is thought to support Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. The rear panel …

Greeting a Pair of Liquid Freezer 120 & 240 Coolers

Arctic announces a pair of liquid cooling systems entitled Liquid Freezer 120 and Liquid Freezer 240. They are targeting the most demanding CPUs designed by Intel & AMD. The first model perfectly matches processors with up to 250 W TDP, while the second one might cope with 300 W TDP. Pricing is set at 100 EUR and 130 EUR correspondingly. Both new-comers are shipped with a brand Arctic MX-4 thermal compound.

Arctic Liquid Freezer 120 accommodates a waterblock with a copper base, an efficient pump, 120-mm heatsink, long connecting hoses (326 mm), and a couple of 120-mm fans, based on a fluid dynamic bearing. They are monitored by means of PWM technology, enabling them to rates within 500-1350 RPM speed range. At the same time, the maximal noise level does not exceed 0.3 Sone.

To continue, Arctic Liquid Freezer 240 is distinguished by the implementation of a 240-mm heatsink and four 120-mm fans. Tests prove, that this cooler is able to maintain the temperature of Intel Core …

Budgetary Chassis NZXT Tempest 210 Review

Product line of NZXT, an American hardware developer and supplier, is basically targeted at gamers and enthusiasts. Its chassis and power supply units prove to demonstrate highly-efficient characteristics and, in some terms, outstanding performance. Still, the company expands its customer audience by developing products for middle-end and entry-level consumer groups. Its latest chassis model Tempest 210 belongs exactly to the budgetary sector due to the reasonable correlation: quality – price. Being an entry-level product, NZXT Tempest 210 is ready to offer quite satisfactory facilities and performance.

Design

Design of NZXT Tempest 210 chassis can be called classical. This is confirmed by all straight lines and standard framework. Grid-like frontal panel is the only distinguishing feature of the model. The rear panel is analogous to the majority of other classical enclosures. Tempest 210 is delivered only in black version to add universality to the model's utilization. …
