Biostar Outs a Triple of Racing Motherboards

Biostar has begun the 2016 year’s history with the launch of a new series of motherboards, entitled Racing. Currently, the lineup includes three ATX models — Z170GT7, H170GT3 & B150GT5 — based on Intel Z170, H170 and B150 chipsets respectively. The triple is compatible with Intel Skylake processors for Socket LGA1151.

Biostar Racing motherboards are developed according to Super 5 Design template. It entails a number of advantages. Among them:

— Super Sound – the employment of a high-quality audio subsystem Biostar Hi-Fi audio;

— Super Face – a unique visual styling of the PCB;

— Super Easy – the implementation of a well-considered hardware layout;

— Super Power – the usage of a reliable power subsystem with super durable ferrite and solid-state capacitors;

— Super Fun – the introduction of additional components for more sophistication (i.e. LED backlight).

Overview of the Aerocool P7-C1 Midi Tower Case (Part II)

Main Features

According to the manufacturer’s specifications, the case may accommodate very large components: a video card up to 375 mm (or 400 mm in the absence of the front fans) and a power supply of up to 200 mm in length. CPU cooler may be up to 165 mm high.

Despite the construction of Aerocool P7-C1, the power supply is placed in the most common way, and the board is set to the standard six-millimetre racks. The thumbscrews for fixing it are not supplied.

Let’s have a closer look onto the drive installation. The carriers for 3.5" storage devices are simply stretched on hard drives. They are to be straightened a little to be installed. The 2.5" storage devices are attached to the carriers’ by cogs, and it is possible to mount them not only to the ends, but to the ground as well.

The carriers with the mounted hard drive are simply retracted and sit in place securely enough. And the solid-state drives are fixed to the carriers by thumbscrews.

The Debut of Cooler Master MasterLiquid Pro 140 and 280 CPU Liquid-Cooling Systems

This year the Cooler Master company has released a series of original MasterLiquid Pro liquid-cooling systems for Intel and AMD CPUs. The models with 120 mm and 240 mm heat sinks were the first to be released. Now it’s the turn of MasterLiquid Pro 140 and 280 devices, using the liquid-cooling systems heat sinks of the suitable size.

These novelties with a “one-piece” and “two-piece” heat sinks have much in common, though they differ in heat spreader dimensions (171 × 138 × 27 mm and 311 × 138 × 27 mm), as well as in the location of the 140 mm fans pair. MasterLiquid Pro 140 has them mounted on both sides of the heat dissipator and MasterLiquid Pro 280 — on the one side only.

Coolers consist of the big water unit with the inbuilt pump, pipes made out of fluorated ethylene-propylene copolymer in braided cable, the aluminum heat sink and fans with a high static pressure rate (up to 3.15 mm H2O).

The water unit base is manufactured out of copper. Inside of …
