Cooler Master Showcases G-Series PSUs

Along with the launch of new PC chassis, Cooler Master is ready to release new G-series power supply units. The series is introduced by three models – G500, G600 and G700 – with 500W, 600W and 700W power, respectively. All of them correspond to ATX12V v2.3 standard, support Active PFC option and a range of protection tools (from short circuit, overvoltage, current overload, power overload). Moreover, these units employ a dual EMI-filter and take benefit from a single 120 mm fan with automatic speed control functions.

Cooler Master G-series PSUs have been felicitated with 80Plus Bronze certificate, due to their high efficiency (approximately 85%) and an estimated mean time between failures of 100.000 hours. The two junior models, G500 and G600, are able to operate at 456W and 576W load, correspondingly, on +12V rail. Thecus Company introduced a new naming scheme for products

Company Thecus decided to introduce a new naming scheme for its drives, so that users can easily understand its product line. New names will have all future models.

In the name with length of five to seven characters will be encoded some information about the device. The first letter indicates the type of device: N — NAS running Linux, D — DAS, W — NAS running Windows, V — NVR. This is followed by a two-digit number indicating the number of disks (compartments for storage) in the system. If this amount is less than 10, the first zero is omitted. Fourth and fifth digit is coded by the hardware platform used. For example, 21 — Cavium Econa, 31 — Marvell Armada, 51 — Intel Atom Cedarview, 52 — Intel EvanSport, 53 — Intel Atom third-generation, 81 — Sandy Bridge, 82 — Ivy Bridge, 83 — Other Platforms future generations. Meet New Gaming ROG Swift PG248Q Monitor from Asus

Asus is about to release another gaming monitor from Republic of Gamers lineup of products. Entitled Asus ROG Swift PG248Q, the new-comer employs 24-inch TN panel with Full HD resolution (16:9 aspect ratio). One of the most striking features ascribed to the model is superfast response time – 1 ms. The display is also characterized by the incorporation of an unusual stand base with the insertion of red-painted circle around the foot.

Asus ROG Swift PG248Q boasts the maximal possible refresh rate – 180 Hz (dynamically tuned from the nominal 144 Hz). The included panel offers 350 cd/m2 of maximal screen brightness, 16.7 m of displayed colors and wide viewing angles (170/160 degrees H/V).
