IEI Releases Small-Type Motherboards Kino-CVR-D25502/N26002

IEI has replenished its line of products with a motherboard series intended for application in small-type home PCs due to the implemented mini-ITX form-factor. All previous products of this manufacturer were basically oriented on the enterprise sector, however IEI decided to widen its facilities by developing quite new motherboards for home use. The series is represented by two models: Kino-CVR-D25502 and N26002 which have got a lot of common, as well as, different parameters.

In fact, the major distinctions between the two models can be dwindled down to the implemented processors. Kino-CVR—D2550 employs two-core Intel Atom processor D2550, while N26002 model is equipped with Intel Atom 2600. The difference is seen also in clock frequencies and RAM volume capacities. D2550 is able to achieve 1.86 GHz and is notable for 4 GB RAM capacity; N2600 achieves 1.6 GHz and characterizes by only 2 GB RAM capacity.

BenQ Launches BL2420PT Quad HD Monitor

BenQ, a well-known Taiwanese designer of visual solutions, strikes the imagination with a new PC monitor, entitled BL2420PT. This 23.8-inch item with 16:9 aspect ratio is based on a high-quality AHVA matrix that ensures unrivaled specifications: the widest viewing angles (178 degrees in both aspects), Quad HD resolution (2560x1440 pixels), and 100% coverage in sRGB surrounding.

BenQ BL2420PT features 520x568x199 mm dimensions and weighs 7 kg. The display is equipped with white LED backlit that reduces typical power consumption to 28 W and to 0.3 W in Off mode. The implemented matrix provides for 1000:1 native contrast with 20M :1 correlation in dynamic mode. The maximal brightness makes up 300 cd/m2, color depth reaches 8 bits, the ultimate amount of displayed colors – 16.7 million, whereas typical response time equals to 14 ms (5 ms in GtG surrounding).

The rear panel accommodates four video interfaces: DVI, VGA, DisplayPort 1.2, and HDMI 1.4. Sound production is relied …

Meeting Ballistix Elite DDR4 Memory from Micron Technology

As part of Crucial brand, Micron Technology comes out with a new generation of RAM – the Ballistix Elite DDR4. It is developed in a pure black PCB with a powerful heatspreader and an integrated thermal sensor. Initially, the company releases planks of 4 GB and 8 GB, although in retail sale the products will be available in 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB kits. Pricing is unknown so far.

Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4 memory operates at 2666 MHz frequency and boasts 21 Gb/sec throughput index. Its power-efficient facilities are 40% better than those inherent in DDR3 models with analogous clock frequency. This makes gaming process a delight due to intense responsiveness, optimized latencies, and increased frame rates.

The modules support XMP 2.0 profiles as well as Ballistix Memory Overview Display utilities; the latter track the performance of each module, analyzing temperature, voltage and frequency showings in real time. Furthermore, Micron Technology makes its DDR4 compatible …
