Enermax Puts on Sale Its New CPU Cooler Entitled ETS-T40-TAV

Enermax Technology Corporation, an established Taiwanese designer of multiple PC components, has already put on sale its newest cooler ETS-T40-TAV. The novel is predestined to supply enough cooling effect to CPU and its adjacent elements. The product is developed in Tower-type form-factor, featuring 139x93x160 mm dimensions, and is compatible with CPUs which TDP level does not exceed 200W. The following CPU sockets fall under this category: Intel LGA 775/1155/1156/1366/2011 and AMD FM1/FM2/AM2/AM2+/AM3/AM3+.

Model ETS-T40-TAV consists of a voluminous aluminum heatsink, four heat pipes (6 mm each) which support direct contact technology, and a single 120 mm fan. The fan, entitled TB Appolish PWM, is based on Twister bearing, while its operation is controlled by PWM technology. PWM enables the speed variation from 800 RPM to 1800 RPM, depending on the loading.

On such conditions its performance fluctuates within the measures of 33.26 -75.98 CFM and noise level ranges from …

Transcend Releases SSD320 with SATA III Interface

Transcend has introduced a series of new 2.5'' solid-state drives, codenamed SSD320. The new product supports SATA III 6 Gb/sec standards, and is notable for the outstanding data transfer speed, as well as, reliability. SSD320 is based on SandForce SF-2281 controller of the second generation which adds to the overall performance.

Transcend SSD320 series will include drives of various volume capacities, starting from 64 GB and finishing with 256 GB. These models employ MLC NAND flash-memory chips. In addition, those SSDs support error correction technology. Transcend has taken care of its new series and promoted for the unmatched performance and showings. SSD320 ensures quick download of programs and practically instantaneous system response while working with complicated graphic material or multimedia applications. The devices are capable to achieve the maximal reading speed of 560 Mb/sec, and the maximal writing speed of 530 Mb/sec. Random writing speed (4K) equals to 87000 …

Haswell processors for laptops will consume up to 57 W, desktop - up to 100

Intel provides with three graphics levels: GT1, GT2 and GT3. Desktop processors won’t receive graphics performance higher than GT2, but mobile processors will be able to boast of with GT3 class. Support of PCI Express 3.0 for Haswell processors will be quite usual characteristics, but at the memory controller little progress is seen — yet provides dual-channel DDR3-1600.

By energy consumption Haswell desktop versions will be divided into models with values of 35, 45, 65 and 95 watts of TDP level. For mobile processors the values are 37, 47 and 57 W. Finally, ultra book processors with built-in system logic will be filled by TDP level not more than 15 watts. It is assumed that this will enable them, among other things, be in standby mode up to 10 days without charge.

The desire of Intel to compete with AMD in terms of performance integrated in graphics processor, will add some work to companies producing cooling systems for laptops. The developers report about …
