MSI Announces Middle-End Graphics Card N770 TF 4GD5/OC

MSI announces one more representative of MSI Gaming series – a middle-end graphics solution, based on GeForce GTX 770 adapter. Codenamed N770 TF 4GD5/OC, the new-comer boasts an original design, the availability of factory overclocking, the implementation of a brand cooling system, called Twin Frozr IV, and high-quality Military Class IV components. This model is targeting those users who would like to equip their PC systems with up-dated, reliable and high-yield components.

MSI N770 TF 4GD5/OC takes GK104 chip as the basis of its operation. This chip is developed under 28 nm Kepler microarchitecture with 1536 CUDA cores. Clock frequencies in OC mode exceed those performed by the reference model and make up 1137 MHz in nominal mode, increasing to 1189 MHz on dynamic overclocking. GK104 is accompanied by 4 GB of GDDR5 memory with 256-bit interface; memory modules operate at 1752 MHz frequency in nominal mode and at 7010 MHz on overclocking.

Which DDR3 SDRAM is better for Ivy Bridge

The overclocker memory is now in the category of products for perfectionists, still the common users are pleased with usual modules DDR3-1600 or DDR3-1333 SDRAM. The issue appears related to the release of processors Ivy Bridge series, which in some aspects are similar to its predecessors, still have some distinctive features.

Ivy Bridge processors are restricted on the maximum frequency supported by the DDR3 SDRAM. This indicates the theoretical chance of these processors work with high-speed memory DDR3-3200 SDRAM. Developers of overclocker memory package perceived the change in rules with certain enthusiasm: there are DDR3-2400 modules available in stores. The gap in frequencies of «elite» and «running» versions of the memory has grown twice in size. It won’t have a noteworthy blow on the work of commonly used tasks in systems.

The memory controller in the Ivy Bridge can work both in symmetric mode, with delay, frequency and volume modules in memory channels, and …

Biostar Announces Budget-Oriented H110MD PRO Mainboard

Biostar has replenished its PRO series of motherboards with a budget-friendly model – H110MD PRO. The greenhorn is based on Intel H110 chipset compatible with Intel Skylake Socket LGA 1151 CPUs. As far as this micro-ATX board is an entry-level solution, it offers just basic facilities, including 5-phase VRM, a pair of DIMM slots for DDR3L-1600 MHz modules (maximal capacity – 16 GB).

Biostar H110MD PRO accommodates four SATA III (6 Gb/sec) ports for storage devices, one PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot (for graphics adapter) and a pair of PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots for expansion cards. Network possibilities are ensured by means of gigabit Realtek RTL8111G controller.

The I/O panel boasts the availability of two PS/2 ports, two video ports (D-SUB and DVI-D), one RJ-45 port, three audio sockets, and four USB ports (2x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.0). Additionally, the motherboard supports a range of advanced features, such as Biostar Flash, BIO-Flasher, BIO-Relife, Watch Dog, e-HotLine, BIOS …
