New Eisblock XPX Water Units by AlphaCool

Transfer efficiency of the thermal energy flux from the CPU to the cooling liquid in the circuit depends on the water unit. The AlphaCool Company, being famous for its liquid-cooling system components, has presented a new water units series, called Eisblock XPX. They’ll take the place of the previous model, NexXxoS XP3. The series of Eisblock XPX water blocks will be released on the market featuring various colour schemes, including the mountings colour. The manufacturer has taken into account the latest trends.

In new models the heat-exchange zone microchannel structure is refined: the fin spacing is reduced to 0.2 mm, and the fins number has grown up to 81. Thus, the heat-exchange area has become larger. The brand Ramp technology is applied to the heat-exchanger, which guarantees the absence of the coolant flow vorticity and its steady passing through the microchannels zone. At the same time the hydraulic circuit has been optimized to diminish flow resistance. Eisblock XPX …

Intel Broadwell CPUs will Get BGA Casing

The Internet community is energetically discussing unofficial info concerning the future Intel's Broadwell processors. According to the yet unacknowledged data, Intel will branch off from currently traditional LGA casings in favor to a more advanced BGA solution. At present all CPUs designed by Intel specifically for desktop platforms feature LGA (Land Grid Array) casings which allow the users to upgrade their systems without any hassle. On LGA implementation, the chip is housed within a socket and contacts with the motherboard. As a result, the user might change one chip to the other only with similar set of contacts.

The launch of Intel Broadwell processors, which is planned for 2014, might dramatically change the situation for customers. Most probably Intel will refuse from LGA casings and accommodate all new CPUs in BGA ones, marking the change of Haswell generation to the future Broadwell generation developed under 14 nm technological process. Gold-Winning Deepcool DQ750 PSU Review

Deepcool is primarily renowned for its PC cooling solutions. Still, following the tendencies of portfolio diversification, the company decided to add chassis as well as PSUs to its production line. The latest DQ750 release proves that quality does not depend upon brand or device type. This model has already managed to receive 80Plus Gold certificate that witnesses its high ambitions. Let’s see what else this PSU can offer to an average user.

Brief Overview

Deepcool DQ750 is housed in a stylish case (150x160x86 mm dimensions) with a large formation coating. The availability of a blue LED backlight makes a dissonance with external layout. All basic parameters are recorded on the case itself. Hence, the model corresponds to ATX 12V v2.31 and SSI EPS 12V 2.92 standards. It features a single +12VDC bus that ensures 744 W power. The correlation of +12VDC bus and the maximal efficiency makes up 0.992. The PSU is able to operate within 100 V-240 V input voltage ranges at input …
