SilverStone Comes Out with Precision PS12 Chassis

The lineup of tower cases developed by SilverStone has been replenished by a new price-efficient solution, entitled Precision PS12. The model features 405x360x170 mm dimensions and is ready to accommodate small-sized motherboards (mini-ITX, micro-ATX) as well as four expansion cards. The chassis is made of high-quality plastic, supplemented by a fine-meshed metallic grid on the front panel.

Inside, there is a single rack for the installation of optical drives; it’s estimated for two 5.25-inch units. There is also space for 4x 3.5-inch drives and 1x 2.5-inch drive. Hence, there is little space for graphics adapters, the length of which should not exceed 358 mm. The layout is intended for 140-mm high CPU coolers & standard ATX PS/2 power supply units.

SilverStone Precision PS12 is shipped with a single preinstalled 120-mm fan (front panel). Additionally, it’s possible to include one 80-mm fan (front panel) and one 80-/92-mm fan (rear panel). Pricing is set at $45.

Asus Intros GTX 950 Mini Videocard for Gaming Purposes

Asus has replenished its portfolio of graphics cards with a mini-item, GeForce GTX 950 Mini, targeting Mini-ITX systems. It features 172x112 mm dimensions to fit any PC chassis. Despite small size, the model is ready to cope with all modern Full HD gaming applications. As distinct from full-blown adapters, this item doesn’t require an additional 6-pin PCIe connector, since its power consumption level is reduced to 75 W.

Asus GeForce GTX 950 Mini takes Nvidia GM206-250 GPU as the core. It entails 768 CUDA cores, 32 ROPs and 48 TMUs. As distinct from the etalon model, the new-comer boasts overclocked frequency index: 1051 MHz (base) & ‘OC’ mode 1228 MHz (dynamic).

The integrated GPU is mated with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory (128-bit interface). It operates at 1652 MHz/6608 MHz frequency. Memory allows for 105.73 Gb/sec bandwidth. The videocard comes equipped with three different video ports: HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort and DVI-I.

It was reported earlier that the model GeForce GTX 660 will debut at retail simultaneously with the GTX 660 Ti (August 16), but as it turned out, this is not the case: despite the inclusion of systems into packages, this adapter will be available for purchase as a separate product only on the third week of September, ie from 17 to 23.

Preliminarily, GeForce GTX 660 is based on a 28-nm core Nvidia GK106-200-A2, which includes 960-1152 stream processors and 192-bit memory bus that connects the GPU with chips GDDR5 in the amount of 1.5-2 GB. The recommended price is expected to be around $ 230.

From 17 to 23 September also will be available in sale the GeForce GTX 650 Ti and GeForce GTX 650. The first is based on the graphics core GK106, but with 4-5 streaming multiprocessors SMX or 768-960 shader blocks. The total volume of GDDR5 chips will be 1 …
