Dell Replenishes 2013 S Series with Five New Monitors

The past few days were marked by the introduction of new monitors designed by Dell. The five models supplemented the series 2013 S and expanded the integrated facilities for the customers. Four models are based on IPS array type, while the fifth one – on VA array type. The whole list of delivered monitors includes: 21.5-inch S2240L, 21.5-inch S2240M, 23-inch S2340L, 24-inch S2440L (VA), 27-inch S2740L. All the models feature Full HD resolution of 1920x1080, good viewing angles (178/178 degrees) and thin display frame.

Monitor S2440L is characterized by fast response time that approximates 5 ms and 5000:1 color contrast. At the same time, models based on IPS feature 7 ms array response time (during transition from gray to gray) and 1000:1 color contrast.

The difference between the models is also seen in the integration of different video ports. The monitor with 27-inch diagonal is equipped with two-port USB-hub and such video outputs as DVI, HDMI and D-Sub. Models S2440L, …

KFA2 Introduces Shortcut GTX 960 OC 2 GB Video Card

KFA2 comes out to the European market with a shortcut version of Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 960 adapter. The GTX 960 OC 2GB features 193x124.3x41.5 mm dimensions, compatible with small-sized PC cases (mini-ITX form-factor). Despite an unusual design, the model offers five video outputs: three DisplayPort, one DVI-I and one HDMI 2.0. The new-comer will be available from retailers at 199 EUR price tag.

KFA2 GTX 960 OC 2GB is based on GM206 GPU with 1280 stream processors, 10 SMM, and 64 ROPs. It operates at heightened clock frequencies – 1165 MHz (nominal) and 1228 MHz (dynamic). The core is supported by 2 GB of GDDR5 memory (128-bit bus) that runs at the reference 7010 MHz clock frequency. Power supply is organized by means of a 6-pin connector.

As for cooling system, it is represented by three copper heatpipes and a pair of low-noise fans. It should be noted that in standby mode the cooler totally switches off the fans in order to minimize the noise level.

Intel is preparing a quad-core Core i7-3740QM, 3840QM and 3940XM

In late September — early October, Intel plans to update the lineup of Core i7 processors on the cores generation Ivy Bridge (22 nm). It is expected that within a few months users will witness the announcement of the CPU for laptops Core i7-3740QM, 3840QM and 3940XM, which will replace released in April 3720QM, 3820QM and 3920XM, respectively.

According to the information from web resources, the trio will receive an increase of 100 MHz from the predecessors, retaining the previous TDP and probably the recommended price. A common feature of the new processors is four x86-cores that handle data in 8 threads (Hyper-Threading).

Core i7-3940XM operates at a nominal frequency of 3 GHz, equipped with 8 MB cache of the third level, two-channel controllers DDR3-1333/1600, graphics subsystem Intel HD 4000. There is support for dynamic overclocking Turbo Boost, Virtualization VT-x and VT-d, new commands AES and instructions AVX. TDP 3940XM is 55 watts.
