The ASRock DeskMini 110 PC Is Based on the Mini-STX Motherboard and Afford the CPU Upgrade

The ASRock manufacturer has voiced, that modest-sized (155 × 155 × 80 mm only) DeskMini 110 PCs may get Intel Core processing units of the seventh generation (the Kaby Lake platform).

The key specification of the product is the presence of the Mini-STX motherboard, which is of decent size (140 × 147 mm), though, affords the CPU upgrade. DeskMini 110 will most likely possess an LGA 1151 socket. The ASRock Co. also alludes to the Core i7-7700K processor, being a 14 nm solution with four compute cores, offering the 4.2–4.5 GHz clockrate. The DDR4-2133/2400 RAM is supported.

Another peculiarity of brand-new ASRock Mini PCs is embodied in the fast Samsung 960 PRO PCIe SSD with the 512 GB capacity. The ultimate claimed data read rate is 3,534 MB/s, and the record speed – 2,130 MB/s.

The DeskMini 110 case holds two 2.5-inch drives, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi adapters, a Gigabit Ethernet network controller, alongside with USB 2.0, USB 3.0, HDMI and DP interface units.

ASRock Introduces Its Upgraded DeskMini PCs

The ASRock Co. has brought to the CES 2017 event its upgraded RX and GTX lines DeskMini PCs.

Details are obscure; however, general info is available. It is known, for example, that the dimensions of these devices are 210 х 137.5 х 81.9 mm. The motherboards utilized are of Mini-STX form factor, and the supposed CPUs are of the Kaby Lake generation.

The highest RAM capacity of these models equals to 32 GB; and there’s a possibility to embed drives due to the 2 SATA connectors and 3 M.2 slots. Such ports as USB 3.0 (x3), USB 2.0 (x2), HDMI (x2), DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort, Thunderbolt 3 and Gigabit Ethernet deliver extra convenience.

These novelties can be equipped with either GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 460, RX 470, RX 480 (MXM) graphics cards. At the same time, the TDP rate should not exceed 120 W.

Therefore, we can assume that ASRock will produce fully gaming and rather effective VR compatible compact PCs.

Deepcool Introduces a Universal IceEdge 400 E CPU Cooler

Deepcool Industries, a well-known Chinese designer of multifarious cooling solutions, is going to launch its newest universal CPU cooler, entitled IceEdge 400 E (Elite Edition). The new-comer has got a tower-type design and features 100x86x125.5 mm dimensions.

This model is predestined to be incorporated into all contemporary platforms, including Intel’s LGA775/1150/1155/1156 and AMD’s 754/939/940/FM1/FM2/AM2(+)/AM3(+). Moreover, it is able to cool down rather hot processors, which TDP level reaches 130 W.

Deepcool IceEdge 400 E consists of a heatsink block, featuring thin aluminum plates, four copper heatpipes that support direct contact technology, and a single 92 mm fan. The latter is based on a fluid bearing and develops speed up to 2200 RPM. The maximal noise level it is producing approximates 26 dB. The fan is fixed due to wire spikes.

Pricing and release date are still unknown.
