Intel to Release CPU Avoton in Late 2013

Intel is known to develop CPU solutions for different types of systems, including home-based compact platforms, as well as corporate server systems. Not so long ago the company announced the decision to introduce its new solution for micro-servers, codenamed Bordenville, which is based on Centerton CPU. A new platform is going to provide good performance characteristics in combination with multifarious facilities. Still, Intel decided to move on and improve the platform for this segment by a more efficient product. I-O Data Introduces New SSDN-3V to the Home Market

I-O Data, a well-known Japanese developer of top-tier peripheral and interface products, is going to introduce its new SSD series, codenamed SSDN-3V. The newbies will become available in the home market already at the end of the current month. The series involves three models of 60 GB (SSDN-3V60), 120 GB(SSDN-3V120), and 240 GB (SSDN-3V240) capacities. All the models are thought to support SATA 6 Gb/sec interface.

Solid-state drives from I-O Data are based on SandForce/LSI SF-2281 controller and employ NAND flash-memory, designed under 24 nm technological process. SSDs feature 7 mm case depth, but the availability of a dedicated adapter promotes for their installation into a standard 9.5 mm drive bay.

In regard to performance, SSDN-V3 drives offer up to 306 MB/sec speed on consecutive reading operations and up to 186 MB/sec on consecutive writing operations.

ViewSonic Outs XG03 Gaming Monitors

ViewSonic has enlarged its lineup of gaming products with another series of monitors – the XG03. The lineup currently consists of two models: XG2703 & XG2703-GS. The key differentiation between them lies in the support for AMD FreeSync (the first model) and Nvidia G-Sync (the second model). Consequently, the GX2703 employs red accents in design, whereas the XG2703-GS uses green detailing.

ViewSonic XG03 is based on 27-inch SuperClear IPS panel, featuring 2560x1440 pixels & 165 Hz refresh rate. The display boasts 16:9 aspect ratio, 178/178 degrees viewing angles, 1000:1 static contrast, 120M:1 dynamic contrast, 300 cd/m2 maximal brightness as well as 4 ms response time.
