Gigabyte Shows Off a Bespoke GTX 970 Graphics Card

Gigabyte has intrigued its fans by the design of an unusual videocard – the GeForce GTX 970 (GV-N970TTOC-4GD). It is based on Nvidia GM-204-200-A1 GPU (Maxwell) but with overclocked frequencies. The core operates at 1101 MHz/1241 MHz instead of etalon 1050 MHz/1178 MHz. The GPU is accompanied with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory (256-bit bus) that runs at 7010 MHz efficient clock frequency.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 is distinguished by the implementation of Twin Turbo Fan cooling system. It consists of three copper heatpipes with direct touch technology, an aluminum heatsink, and a radial-flow fan; the latter grasps air from both sides of the adapter due to the shortened PCB design.

As a result, the airflow increases by 24%, whereas the cooling effect enhances by 29%. Thanks to this, the card is thought to be an optimal solution for Nvidia SLI configurations.

It should be noted that this graphics card boasts a high-quality hardware base – Ultra Durable VGA. A set of external …

Intel Debuts with 5th Gen Core Mobile CPUs

Within the confines of CES 2015, Intel has officially introduced the fifth generation of Intel Core mobile processors. The lineup is targeting traditional laptops, ultrabooks, 2-in-1 devices, chrome-books, all-in-one items as well as mini-PCs. Besides, the company pin hopes for their CPUs to be additionally implemented within ‘All-inclusive Internet/Internet of Things’ embedded device concept.

New processors are designed according to 14-nm Intel Broadwell architecture. Due to the transition to a brand new technological process, the number of transistors has increased by 35%; herewith, the core area has reduced by 37%. Such innovative move provided for the enhancement of efficiency with simultaneous cut of power consumption. As a result, devices with the integrated Intel Core CPUs are called to run 1.5 hours longer in standalone mode.

The 5th generation lineup might boast the support for the latest codecs (HEVC, VP9, VP8), technologies (Intel WiDi 5.1, Intel RealSense …

Foremay 2TB SSD: Reality for Industrial and Critical Systems

SSD segment has been characterized by a violent development from the very appearance of small-sized drives. Nonetheless, Foremay has managed to accelerate this development by announcing two new SSD lines housed in compact cases and featuring a truly striking capacity. About two years ago, the company released the models of 1TB capacity, but today it's claiming the coming release of models featuring 2TB capacity. Not all HDD products can nowadays boast such volumes, but Foremay was lucky to combine the size with capacity.

The first SSD line will be entitled SC199 and will serve the needs of critical applications. The second line is known to be codenamed TC166 and intended at industrial employment. All models are designed in 2.5-inch form-factor and employ SATA 6Gb/sec interface for the connection with various PC and computing systems.

According to Jack Winters, one of the Foremay's founders and promoters, the company implemented some new technological developments to …
