Lian Li to Release a Space-Saving PC-Q33 Chassis

Lian Li, a well-known hardware manufacturer from Taiwan, is ready to marvel the audience by one more offbeat PC case: the PC-Q33. The model is developed in a space-saving mini-ITX standard with 229x328x240 mm dimensions. Despite frugal size, an overall case capacity equals to 29.2 liters. This chassis features a quite laconic design, although will be available in two coating variations: black and silver. The implementation of a lock on the frontal panel is thought to be the model’s basic peculiarity.

The PC-Q33 is consistent with mini-ITX and mini-DTX motherboards and supports the installation of 220 mm graphics cards, as well as 180 mm CPU coolers. At the same time, the maximal length of the power supply unit should not be more than 200 mm. Internal layout presupposes the mounting of three 2.5-inch drives and a couple of 3.5-inch drives.

NEC launches ultrabook based on Core i7 weighting 875g

Japanese company NEC has prepared a unique laptop VersaPro UltraLite VG for state market of the rising sun. The use of light materials and advanced components has reduced the weight of a 13.3-inch laptop up to 875g total.

The body of ultrabook is made of magnesium-lithium alloy and has thickness of 14.9 mm. The product is designed for business travelers who need high performance in small form factor. The «heart» of the laptop is dual-core Core i7-3517U (Ivy Bridge), operating at a frequency of 1.9 GHz to 3 GHz, depending on the load. To it was joined by 4 GB of RAM SO-DIMM DDR3 and a 128-gigabyte SSD-drive. Built-in Intel HD graphics 4000 (350/1100 MHz) will provide an opportunity to play casual games on the screen with a resolution of 1600x900 pixels and LED-backlit display. AMD Outs the World’s First Server FirePro S9300 x2 GPU

AMD has proudly announced the release of the world’s first server-grade graphics accelerator. Entitled FirePro S9300 x2, this GPU is called to facilitate in solving complex computing tasks and take graphics to the next level. The card is linked to the power unit by means of two 8-pin connectors, consuming up to 300 W power at most.

The heart of AMD FirePro S9300 x2 is a bundle of two AMD Fiji GPUs (GCN architecture). They feature a pair of 4096 stream processors and run at 850 MHz frequency. Each GPU employs 4 GB of HBM memory that operates at 1000 MHz clock frequency and offers 512 Gb/sec bandwidth.

The integration of two processing aggregates allows the accelerator to achieve some amazing 13.9 TFLOPS of computing power. As a result, the model exceeds in performance its nearest competitors: Nvidia Tesla K80 with 5.6 TFLOPS as well as Nvidia Tesla M60 with 7.4 TFLOPS.
