Toshiba to Release Entry-Level A100 Solid-State Drive

Toshiba is about to release a 2.5-inch SSD, entitled A100. The entry-level model is based on TLC NAND flash memory chips (15 nm) with the cooperation of SLC cache memory. Traditionally, the drive employs SATA 6 Gb/sec interface and takes Toshiba TC58NC1010 chip as a controller.

The greenhorn is available in two versions: 120 GB and 140 GB (dimensions: 100x69.85x7 mm). The couple is an optimal choice for home & office PCs, thanks to the incorporation of power-efficient, high-performance and shock-proof technologies. The drives’ maximal data transfer speed on sequential operations makes up 550 MB/sec & 480 MB/sec (read/write). PowerColor Outs an Overclocked Radeon R9 270 OC Graphics Card

Along with other AMD partners, PowerColor has elaborated its own version of Radeon R9 270 adapter. The PowerColor Radeon R9 270 OC is differentiated from rival products by an improved cooling system and factory overclocked frequencies. Its release is scheduled for late November and the retail price won’t hit over $180.

To begin with, this graphics card is naturally based on AMD Curacao Pro GPU, developed under 28 nm technological process. It consists of 1280 current processors, 32 ROPs and 64 TMUs. The core runs at 930 MHz frequency and is able to gain 955 MHz frequency on overclocking. The middle-end lineup of HIS’ proprietary graphics cards has been refilled with a new small-sized model: the R9 270 iCooler Boost Clock 2GB GDDR5. It features 190x125x45 mm dimensions and maintains an etalon clock frequency template. Hence, its price won’t differ too much from the recommended one. The new-comer boasts a bright design with a blue PCB and light-blue fan blades. Despite the appurtenance to the middle-end segment, the card is able to demonstrate quite an appropriate performance.

As seen from the codename, HIS R9 270 iCooler Boost Clock 2GB GDDR5 is equipped with 2 GB of GDDR5 video memory. The latter employs 256-bit interface and runs at 1400 MHz (nominal)/5600 MHz (effective) frequency.
