Meet Tiny B150M Night Elf Mainboard from MSI

MSI has added a new micro-ATX motherboard to its Performance Gaming series of products. Entitled B150M Night Elf, the new-comer is differentiated by an outstanding black-and-red PCB design with a stylish LED lighting. The model is based on Intel B150 chipset and supports LGA1151-compatible CPUs on Skylake architecture.

MSI B150M Night Elf receives power via 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS connectors. The VRM system is organized according to 4+2-phase scheme with passive cooling. The PCB offers four slots for the mounting of DDR4-2133 MHz memory modules (up to 64 GB capacity), two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, one PCIe 3.0 x16, and one PCIe 3.0 x16@4.

Storage subsystem is introduced by six SATA III 6 Gb/sec ports, whereas for the connection of various external devices there are six USB 3.1 ports (10 Gb/s). Network facilities are ensured by means of Intel I219-V controller. At the same time, audio subsystem Audio Boost 3 employs Realtek ALC1150 controller.

The Launch of the Fastest SSD for Mac OS from Promise

Promise Technology finally starts the sales of its new SSD model announced this summer. This solid-state drive has been entitled Pegasus J2 and developed specifically for ultra compact PCs based on Mac OS platform. Indeed, traditional PC casings provide for the installation of additional winchesters with extension purposes in mind; in case of laptops and ultrabooks, winchesters are of no use, so SSDs are the only way to dramatically extend the facilities. Promise designed its Pegasus J2 exactly with this consideration in mind.

The integration of Thunderbolt interface is supposed to be the most beneficial characteristic of Pegasus J2. This promotes for high speed operations and more efficient data processing. This model is delivered in two variations: 256GB and 512GB which currently cost approximately $800 and $1500 correspondingly. Compact dimensions of both models make them easily transportable and are a perfect match for MacBook Pro/Air devices.

MSI introduced a tandem of graphics adapters GeForce GTX 680 Twin Frozr with 4 GB memory

The Taiwanese company MSI has released a new video card N680GTX Twin Frozr 4GB, built on the basis of the reference PCB GeForce GTX 680 with double buffer memory GDDR5 and cooling system Twin Frozr III. The accelerator is available in standard and OC versions: one operates at frequencies of 1006 (1058) / 6008 MHz core (GPU Boost), and RAM chips, respectively, the second — in 1058 (1124) / 6008 MHz.

Preset cooler consists of five nickel-plated copper heatpipes, copper base, a solid array of aluminum fins and two 80-mm fans designed with blades Propeller Blade. The board is placed on two expansion slots (38.75 mm in height) and supports graphics ligament-4Way SLI. The additional power is supplied by two connectors PCI-E Power 6-pin. A set of standard video outputs: DVI-I, DVI-D, full-size HDMI and DisplayPort.

Recall, that a series of adapters GeForce GTX 680 use the chip Kepler GK104 in version of 1536 stream processors and 256-bit memory bus. Standard RAM type GDDR5 — 2 …
