PC Chassis SilverStone Sugo SG09 Review

Model SG09 is the ninth chassis of Sugo series designed by SilverStone. Upon the whole, the series consists basically of compact parallelepiped casings that presuppose the integration of small-sized mini-ITX motherboards only. Still, Sugo SG09 features more voluminous dimensions (354x220x295 mm) and cubic-like casing that widens its compatibility area a bit. All previous Sugo models were perceived primarily as compact solutions with a quite aesthetic design. But Sugo SG09 positions itself as a reliable platform for a powerful PC system.

Chassis SilverStone Sugo SG09 has got rather unusual layout due to the need to accommodate a full-sized PSU, a lengthy graphics adapter, a voluminous CPU cooler, and some kind of data storage system in a casing of 23 liters in capacity. As a result, the developers created a one-volume casing with vertical PSU in the frontal part, vertical motherboard tray, and vertical bays for hard drives located on the reverse side of the tray. NAS QNAP TS-469 Pro Review

Contemporary network storage units have already undergone the evolution era, and nowadays new emerging models do not differ so much from their predecessors. This basically touches upon external integration and major functional. Still, hardware and software layout is constantly changing, offering more advanced, more efficient, and more comprehensive facilities. QNAP has recently launched a series of four-disk stations, with TS-469 Pro model leading the series.

Design and Integration

NAS QNAP TS-469 Pro is based on a steel frame. The casing is made of dark aluminum, while the frontal panel is made of black plastic. The larger part of this panel features a bay for the HDD installation; HDD bay consists of metallic frames and external plastic straps. Right above the bay there is a block of two-array indicators, two control panels and eight LED lights signifying the work of each hard drive, general device status, network connection, USB connection, and eSATA connection.

Thecus Adds N2810 NAS to Its Rich Portfolio

Thecus Technology Corp. marked the beginning of a new production year by launching an offbeat multi-task NAS – the N2810. The model is targeting to solve a wide spectrum of assignments; however, it might become an ideal solution for a demanding multimedia system. The all-black case is estimated for two 3.5-inch HDD drives which can be swapped thanks to dedicated buttons on the front panel. Sales are scheduled for February 2016.

Thecus N2810 is developed on Intel Celeron N3050 (Intel Braswell, 14 nm) CPU with 6 W TDP. Its base clock frequency makes up 1.6 GHz, while efficient index might achieve 2.16 GHz. The CPU cooperates with 2 GB of DDR3 memory. Interestingly enough, the customer is free to expand RAM to 8 GB, if necessary.

The frontal panel accommodates Start button as well as a set of interfaces: three USB 3.0 ports, a pair of RJ45 LAN ports, and a single HDMI video port. Such assembly provides for the connection of external drives, peripherals and multimedia …
