The Advanced Cubieboard6 Singleboard PC Is Based on the 4-year Old Model, Though, It Has Refined Components

A new model, namely Cubieboard6, has joined the Cub ieboard singleboard PC family, which emerged 5 years ago. The novelty is of the same size (100 х 60 х 18 mm) as the previous model, the component layout is unchanged; however, parts themselves are updated.


Cubieboard6 is based on the SoC Actions S500, as well as the 28 nm technology. It offers four Cortex-A9 cores and the PowerVR SGX544 GPU. The 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM is supplemented with the 8 GB eMMC module. Cubieboard6 has a microSD slot and a 6 Gbps SATA port. The wireless Ampak AP6212 module supports Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0; there is also an HDMI 1.4b video output, two USB 2.0 ports and a Fast Ethernet networking port.


2 x 48pins headers make I2C, MIPI CSI, ADC, CVBS, RGB, LVDS, MIPI DSI, SPI, HSIC, GPIO and other buses available. The device is powered via USB 2.0 or 2-pins header for 3.7 V Li-Po battery.

Graphics Adapter Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost with Modified Frequencies

Taking the lead from a number of Nvidia’s partners, Gigabyte has launched its own sample piece of GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost graphics adapter. It is differentiated primarily by modified GPU and memory frequencies, as well as by an improved PCB design. The latter employs Ultra Durable 2 technology that stipulates the implementation of high-quality hardware components, including ferrite chokes, solid-state capacitors, and Low RDS Mosfets transistors with reduced resistance on mode changes.



Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost is based on GK106 GPU, developed under 28 nm technological process. Its nominal frequency has been increased from the reference 980 MHz to 1033 MHz, while its dynamic frequency has been changed from 1032 MHz to 1098 MHz. This graphics adapter is furnished with 1 GB of GDDR5 memory, which clock frequencies have been, vice versa, lowered: nominal index dropped from 1502 MHz to 1250 MHz, dynamic index dropped from 6008 MHz to 5000 MHz.

BDR-S11J-BK and BDR-S11J-X Are the Two Novelties with SATA 6 Gbps from Pioneer

Recently the Pioneer Co. has announced the release of its two Blu-ray Disc optical drives. Those are BDR-S11J-BK and BDR-S11J-X models with SATA 6 Gbps interface meant for playback of 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs.



The Pioneer BDR-S11J-BK sample will obtain the glazed black front panel, and BDR-S11J-X – the refined audio quality for AudioCD PB. Both products fit in the 5.25-inch drive bays.


The supreme write speeds are the following: BD-R — 16х, BD-R LTH — 8x, BD-RE — 2x, DVD-RAM — 5x, DVD+RW — 8x, DVD±R — 16x, DVD±R DL — 8x, CD-R — 40x, CD-RW — 24x. The supply kit will include the Cyberlink software. However, reproduction of 4K movies requires the availability of Windows 10 operating system, the Intel 7th-Gen Core i5 processor alongside with a display with HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0, connected to the CPU integrated graphics card.


The Pioneer BDR-S11J-BK and BDR-S11J-X will come in retail in February at the lowest price of $195.
