MSI Outs ECO Motherboards for Socket LGA1151

Launched first in 2014, ECO lineup of motherboards from MSI has recently been replenished by a triplet of models for socket LGA1151. The new-comers boast a wide range of power-efficient facilities as well as an optimal performance level. Thus, the users will enjoy the most advanced technologies without sacrificing performance. All three mainboards are developed in micro-ATX form-factor and employ Military Class 4 hardware base, although their other specifications differ.

MSI H170M ECO is designed on Intel H170 chipset, ready to accept Intel Core i3/i5/i7, Pentium & Celeron CPUs for socket LGA1151. The PCB accommodates two DIMM slots for the installation of DDR4-2133 MHz memory modules (up to 32 GB capacity). Storage subsystem offers 6x SATA III ports, while expansion is supported by 2x PCIe 3.0 x1 and one PCIe 3.0 x16 slots.

Audio subsystem is based on 7.1-channel Realtek ALC887 controller. The organization of network is entrusted to Intel I219V controller via LAN port. The …

SilverStone Launches 4-Port ECU01 PCI Expansion Card

Taking into account an ever increasing demand for USB 3.0 interfaces, SilverStone has elaborated a dedicated PCI expansion card, entitled ECU01. The card is designed in a low-profile form-factor with the support for PCI Express 2.0 x2 bus. It features a pair of 19-contact USB 3.0 sockets, each of which offers two USB 3.0 ports.

In keeping with the manufacturer, this comprehensive model is called to satisfy the need for high-speed interfaces, absent with old-fashioned systems. For sure, the amount of connectivity ports integrated within the motherboards (usually of entry-level/budgetary standard) is not always enough for enthusiasts and gamers. Hence, there can appear an acute need for additional expansion cards, like ECU01.

SilverStone ECU01 is based on Etron EJ198 controller, featuring an additional SATA interface that is responsible for an efficient power supply. Moreover, the model supports UASP protocol that accelerates data transfer speed. If the current OS does not …

PNY Debuts with GeForce GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti Adapters

PNY, following an echelon of graphics cards manufacturers, has launched its own versions of Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 750 adapters. The PNY GeForce GTX 750 and PNY GeForce GTX 750 Ti are based on power-efficient Maxwell architecture that does not compromise on performance. Both new-comers operate at etalon frequencies and are thought to provide entry-level customers with some outstanding facilities. The preliminary retail price of models makes up $124 and $149 for GTX 750 and Ti version correspondingly.

The PNY GeForce GTX 750 employs GM107-300 GPU (512 CUDA cores), whereas the PNY GeForce GTX 750 Ti is equipped with GM107-400 GPU (640 CUDA cores). Both run at 1020 MHz (nominal) / 1085 MHz (boost) clock frequency. The products are differentiated also by the incorporation of video memory.

The first model involves 1 GB of GDDR5 memory; it uses 128-bit interface and runs at 1250 MHz (nominal) / 5000 MHz (efficient) frequency. At the same time, the second model involves 2 GB of …
