Company XFX is preparing Radeon HD 7970 GE with Double Dissipation cooler

American vendor XFX is about two weeks to release a Radeon 7970 Edition Double Dissipation (model code — FX-797G-TDF). It combines the capabilities of GPU Tahiti XT2 with a higher overclocking potential and the TDP, rather than at Tahiti XT, PCB reference design, but without a single phase power supply (6 +1), and the cooling system in the vaporizing chamber, an array of aluminum fins, PA plate (the same heatsink for the VRM and memory), as well as the two fans standard size 90 mm.

New model will get the recommended for the Radeon HD 7970 GE frequency ratio 1000/6000 MHz for core and chips GDDR5. The graphics chip will operate at 1050 MHz in the load. Recall that the “usual” HD 7970 was limited to regular frequencies 925/5500 MHz and did not support dynamic overclocking.

The configuration of video outputs is almost standard: from the five of DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI and 2x Mini DisplayPort for some reason excluded DVI-D. The additional power is supplied by one 8-pin and one …

Zalman Unveils Nifty Z9 NEO Chassis

Zalman comes out with a new jaunty PC case – the Z9 NEO. The model is available in two paintwork variations (black and white) and is compatible with mini-iTX, micro-ATX as well as full-format ATX motherboards. The mid-tower chassis features 490x482x205 mm dimensions to fit any environment.

Zalman Z9 NEO is estimated for the installation of 7 expansion cards, a pair of 5.25-inch drives, 4x 3.5-/2.5-inch drives, and two solid-state 2.5-inch drives. The layout provides for the installation of 160-mm high CPU coolers, 420-mm long graphics cards, 220-mm long PSUs (ATX PS/2).

The model allows the user to incorporate an efficient cooling system. Hence, there is room for two front fans (120 mm), two top fans with LED backlit, and one rear fan. The other peculiarities of the chassis are as following:

— the employment of soundproof materials on the front panel;

— the integration of a side acrylic window;

— the availability of swappable air filters on the front …

KFA2 Introduces Shortcut GTX 960 OC 2 GB Video Card

KFA2 comes out to the European market with a shortcut version of Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 960 adapter. The GTX 960 OC 2GB features 193x124.3x41.5 mm dimensions, compatible with small-sized PC cases (mini-ITX form-factor). Despite an unusual design, the model offers five video outputs: three DisplayPort, one DVI-I and one HDMI 2.0. The new-comer will be available from retailers at 199 EUR price tag.

KFA2 GTX 960 OC 2GB is based on GM206 GPU with 1280 stream processors, 10 SMM, and 64 ROPs. It operates at heightened clock frequencies – 1165 MHz (nominal) and 1228 MHz (dynamic). The core is supported by 2 GB of GDDR5 memory (128-bit bus) that runs at the reference 7010 MHz clock frequency. Power supply is organized by means of a 6-pin connector.

As for cooling system, it is represented by three copper heatpipes and a pair of low-noise fans. It should be noted that in standby mode the cooler totally switches off the fans in order to minimize the noise level.
