Asus Launches Black-and-White Version of GTX 950 Adapter

Asus has added to its product line a graceful black-and-white videocard, based on GeForce GTX 950 adapter. The heart of the model is an overclocked GM206-250 GPU. Its key differentiation is the possibility to operate in two modes: Gaming – 1076/1188 MHz (base/dynamic) clock frequency & OC – 1102/1279 MHz (base/dynamic). The customer is free to switch between the profiles where relevant.

The GPU, featuring 768 CUDA cores, 32 ROPs and 48 TMUs, is paired with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory that runs at reference 6610 MHz frequency (128-bit rail). The interface panel consists of three video outputs: HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort and DVI-I.

The PCB boasts the implementation of Super Alloy Power II components as well as totally automatic hardware assembly line. The latter became possible thanks to Asus Auto-Extreme technology.

As far as cooling is concerned, Asus GeForce GTX 950 (codename: GTX950-OC-2GD5) is equipped with a two-slot cooler. Its framework embraces an aluminum heatsink …

ARM Readies Cortex-A72 and Mali-T880 for Mobile Devices

ARM has just announced a series of solutions for the upcoming next-generation mobile SoC. The most notable developments are Cortex-A72 processor and Mali-T880 graphics. According to the manufacturer, both components will be interconnected within SoC by means of CoreLink – CCI-500. The launch of new items is scheduled for 2016. Rockchip, MediaTek and HiSilicon are among the companies to integrate both elaborations into their products.

It should be noted that Cortex- A72 is a successor of Cortex-A57, taking analogous 64-bit operations but demonstrating three times higher performance. The new-comer will be designed under 16 nm FinFET+ technological process. Its layout corresponds to big.LITTLE framework requirements; this promotes for its combination with other ARM cores.

As far as Mali-T880 GPU is concerned, it provides for 1.8 response time increase if compared with the Mali-T760 model. Herewith, its power consumption is reduced by 40%. Moreover, this GPU might support 4K …

Asus Showcases a Non-Trivial VN289QL Monitor

Asus has unveiled one more non-trivial proprietary creation: VN289QL monitor. The new-comer features 660x556x247 mm dimensions (with stand) and 28-inch VA panel. Despite a stylish design, the model offers a quite useful Eye Care option. It is called to dramatically reduce eye fatigue on prolonged working sessions, due to the enforcement of stable backlit functioning and decrease of blue light emissions.

Asus VN289QL supports Full HD resolution and features the whole range of specifications each hi-end monitor should have: 16:9 aspect ratio, 5 ms response time, high static and dynamic contract – 3000:1/80M:1 correspondingly, widest viewing angles – 178/178 degrees V/H, and highest brightness – 300 cd/m2. The assemblage of such non-trivial features provides for an unbelievable viewing experience thanks to high-quality imaging.

The monitor comes with a pair of 2W speakers and an enlarged set of external interfaces, including two audio ports, one DVI-D, one D-Sub, one …
