TP-Link Unleashes a New Router with Built-In Battery

Following the general tendencies in PC market, router segment also takes the direction towards compactness. This is dictated basically by the necessity to move from one place to the other (i.e. during business trip). Compact routers offer similar to standard solutions performance plus convenience while transportation. The line of products designed by TP-Link involves both, typical and compact routers.



Model TL-MR3040 is attributed exactly to compact solutions with one peculiar feature: built-in battery for 2000 mAh. The battery is able to operate up to four hours as access point under 802.11n standard. Router might be powered as from network adapter, so from a laptop via USB cable.


There is a possibility to employ this model as typical router tied to the wired network. The integrated WAN cable serves specifically this means; moreover, it can be joined with ADSL modem or with a local network. In addition, TL-MR3040 might operate as a client for WISP networks.

Cooltek Rolls Out Thermolab CPU Coolers

Enlisting up support of a well-known German manufacturer PC Cooling GmbH (Cooltek brand), Thermolab brought on the European market a pair of small-sized CPU coolers. Codenamed LP53 and ITX30, the products are differentiated by the depth of the copper plates and the dimensions of the pre-installed fan. Both new-comers are predestined for mini-ITX and micro-ATX platforms with Intel LGA1156/1155/1150 socket and 100 W TDP processors.



The Thermolab LP53 features 100x94x53 mm dimensions and weighs 410 g (including fan). It consists of a copper base, two 6 mm heatpipes, and 7-blade PWM fan of 92 mm dimensional type. The latter is able to rotate within the speed range of 1000 RPM to 2100 RPM, producing up to 27 dB noise. The cooler’s price does not transcend 37 EUR.

AMD Highlights Plans for the Transition to the 28nm Process

AMD is a company known for the continual and elaborate work on the development and improvement of all product lines, as well as technological standards. Thus, the coming 2013 year is supposed to be portentous for the company in terms of the implementation of 28nm standards in their APU. AMD has recently voiced the plans for the change of the Trinity APU to a new model, codenamed Richland, and the transition to 28nm technological process.



The new APU, Richland, is presumably to be released in two versions: dual-core and quad-core. It will support a number of high-performance technologies, such as Blu-ray 3D, dual graphics, Open CL, AMD turbo core overclocking, and some others.
