Background illumination PaintPack - analogue Philips Ambilight on your monitor

You've probably seen the modern TVs with dynamic backlight called Ambilight, developed by Philips. The essence of its work is to highlight the space behind the TV in different combinations of colours, depending on the events happening on the screen.

PaintPack vs Ambilight

A new development called PaintPack is presented. This model is intended to implement the same idea as the technology of Ambilight, but allows to «light around» any computer monitor. A device called PaintPack is a simpler version in a small box with ten cable-trains, which have bright LEDs at the ends. These LEDs are placed evenly around the perimeter of the back of the monitor, and provide illumination in accordance with what is happening at the moment on the screen. Iiyama Launches a New ProLite T2452MTS PC Monitor

Iiyama Corp., a renowned Japanese designer of hi-end TV panels and PC monitors, has started the sales of a new flagship 24-inch monitor in the internal market. Codenamed ProLite T2452MTS, the model features 556x403.5x122.5 mm dimensions. It also boasts a unique multi-touch technology, supporting two compatible touch points (available only on Windows 7). The price of the monitor is set at $390; it involves a special digital stylus to manipulate the multi-touch screen.

Iiyama T2452MTS is based on TN array and employs a power-saving LED backlit. It supports Full HD resolution (1920x1080) and demonstrates a quite fast response time (2 ms) in Gray-to-Gray environment. High-quality array ensures the following display specifications: static/dynamic contrast ratio – 1000:1/5M:1, typical/maximal brightness – 260/300 cd/m2, viewing angles – 170/160 H/V, amount of displayed tints – 16.7 m, light transmittance – 88%.

Review and testing of coolers GlacialTech Igloo H46 PWM and Igloo H58 PWM

The company GlacialTech Inc. known as a producer of cheap cooling systems aimed primarily at the lower and medium price segment. They are intended solely to cool the non-overclocked CPU. At the same time, GlacialTech has already made attempts to produce more efficient coolers that can cope with cooling of processors with high heat. It was the Siberia and Alaska, and F101 even before. Developing on its trend, the company has recently released two new models aimed at the medium price segment. It is about Igloo H46 PWM and Igloo H58 PWM.

Both coolers are available in the same decorated cardboard boxes, each on the right side shows the pictures of coolers and a list of supported platforms.
