Meet a Pair of High-Efficiency M6 and M.2 SSDs from Plextor

Plextor, an established data storage manufacturer from Japan, announces the release of two new solid-state drive series – the M6 and the M.2. Both new-comers are marked by some outstanding efficiency facilities and completely new design. The M6 SSDs are developed in 2.5-inch design but are housed in ultrathin aluminum cases of 5 mm depth only. They are based on Marvell 88SS9187 controller and MLC NAND flash-memory of Toggle type (19 nm technological process).

The M6 drives feature high-speed SATA III 6 Gb/sec interface and support Plextor TrueSpeed technology. It should be noted that these SSDs are thought to support up to 1 GB RAM – DDR2-800 or DDR3-800 — used as cache. With the attempt to satisfy the needs of diverse customer audiences, Plextor is going to release the M6 modifications: M6 Pro models for high-performance tasks and M6S for ordinary users.

To continue, the M.2 solid-state drives are designed in a totally new NGFF form-factor (New Generation Form …

The First Glimpse on NXP Signal Amplifier BGU8006

NXP Semiconductors company announces the release of a GPS signal amplifier BGU8006 destined primarily for the integration into mobile devices, tablets, navigators, photo- and video cameras. According to the words of the NXP representatives, their new model is the most bantam signal amplifier available in the market: BGU8006 dimensions equal to 0.65mm x 0.44mm x 0.2mm. Besides, this amplifier is characterized by the extremely low level of noise and the necessity to employ only a couple of external components to enable the device (decoupling capacitor and matching inductor).

The abundance of radio frequency signals serves the major impediment for the pure GPS signal reception. NXP BGU8006 has been developed with this thought in mind and is called to improve the reception of weak GPS signals by means of a dynamic rejection of strong signals released by the cellular and local wireless networks.

BGU8006 is based on QuBIC4Xi SiGe:C BiCMOS technology which is known to involve the …

Biostar Intros a New Affordable Motherboard Hi-Fi A75S3

Biostar starts the sale campaign of its new motherboard model codenamed Hi-Fi A75S3, which belongs to PURO Hi-Fi flagship line. It is developed in micro-ATX form-factor and is based on AMD A75 system logics. The board supports all contemporary AMD CPUs that are compatible with FM2 socket, including the series A10, A8, A6, E2, A4, and Athlon II X4 (all with TDP level not more than 100W). The new model is targeted to operate under Windows OS (versions XP, 7, Vista and 8).

Motherboard Hi-Fi A75S3 houses two DIMM slots for a two-channel DDR3 memory that is estimated to work at 800MHz, 1066MHz, 1333MHz, 1600MHz, and 1866 MHz frequency. The overall volume of the integrated memory might achieve 32GB. The model employs GPU of Direct X11 class that secures efficient performance in the majority of updated 3D games and applications. Still, the manufacturer reserves the right to enhance the performance of graphics subsystem thanks to the implementation of a single PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot …
