Intel to Release Celeron Ivy Bridge Processors in 2013

CPUs designed under 22 nm technological process are present practically in all Intel product lines but for Intel Celeron and Intel Atom series. This situation is going to change in the first quarter of the coming year, when new Itel Atom Silvermount and Celeron processors of Ivy Bridge generation are going to be introduced. Celeron series will be represented by three models: G1610, G1610T and G1620; they will substitute the items developed under 32 nm process. Moreover, a more advanced technological process will be applied even to the design of budgetary CPUs with the purpose to enhance their performance and power-saving characteristics.

According to the current data, all three Celeron models will be equipped with two cores based on Ivy Bridge micro-architecture, 2 MB cache-memory of the latest level, and with graphics core Intel HD Graphics 2500. They will also employ two-channel DDR3 memory type, operating under a dedicated controller at 1333 MHz frequencies. Nominal CPU and …

High-End PSU OCZ ZX 1000W Review

OCZ is a company that does not require special presentation due to the many-years' existence in PC hardware market. Its power supply units are well-known all around the world, and their variety is able to satisfy the needs of any customer. Currently the company's line of products is introduced by six series which belong to different targeted segments. PSU OCZ ZX 1000W belongs to the top-end solutions and provides top facilities for powerful PC systems. The top ZX series is also introduced by models of 850W and 1250W.

General Peculiarities

Power supply unit OCZ ZX 1000W features typical for all top models design. It has got black casing with outstanding goldish embedding. All vital parameters are indicated on the casing, including the maximal power index of 996W (83A) on +12VDC bus. The correlation of power on +12VDC bus and the overall PSU power approximates 0.996.

Cable System

This model employs modular cable system, according to which the cables are connected …

Intel Broadwell CPUs will Get BGA Casing

The Internet community is energetically discussing unofficial info concerning the future Intel's Broadwell processors. According to the yet unacknowledged data, Intel will branch off from currently traditional LGA casings in favor to a more advanced BGA solution. At present all CPUs designed by Intel specifically for desktop platforms feature LGA (Land Grid Array) casings which allow the users to upgrade their systems without any hassle. On LGA implementation, the chip is housed within a socket and contacts with the motherboard. As a result, the user might change one chip to the other only with similar set of contacts.

The launch of Intel Broadwell processors, which is planned for 2014, might dramatically change the situation for customers. Most probably Intel will refuse from LGA casings and accommodate all new CPUs in BGA ones, marking the change of Haswell generation to the future Broadwell generation developed under 14 nm technological process. BGA (Ball Grid Array) …
