AMD Readies a Pair of Power-Efficient Desktop Processors

The Internet community is engrossed in a lively debate about the upcoming release of two new Richland desktop processors from AMD. The company has not made any official claims yet, however MSI marked the pair as an appropriate match for some of its new motherboards. Those Richland CPUs, which has already been launched by AMD, proved to be rather power-efficient, featuring 65 W and 100 W TDP level. But new entries – AMD A8-6500T and AMD A10-6700T – are thought to receive 45 W TDP package.

Upon the whole, AMD Richland processors position themselves as affordable, efficient and reliable solutions that can be employed for the assembling of systems with moderate or heightened demands. Some CPU models might be even used for the assembling of gaming systems. However, along with high performance, Richland processors are rather power-efficient; this makes them an ideal choice for home-based and corporate-class PC platforms.

As for the announced models, their specifications are …

ASRock Introduces Affordable H110M-DS/Hyper Mainboard

ASRock enters the market with another budget-oriented micro-ATX mainboard – the H110M-DS/Hyper (the recommended price makes up $60). The greenhorn is designed on Intel H110 chipset as well as ASRock Hyper BCLK Engine. The latter realizes the overclocking of Intel Skylake CPUs (for Socket LGA1151) by means of BCLK alteration; therewith, all other key nodes operate off-the-shelf.

ASRock H100M-DS/Hyper employs 4+1-phase power subsystem. The PCB accommodates 2x DIMM slots for DDR4-2133 MHz RAM with the maximal volume of 32 GB. Storage subsystem is represented by four SATA III ports, whereas expansion facilities include one PCIe 3.0 x16 and one PCIe 2.0 x1 ports.

Audio subsystem is governed by Realtek ALC887 controller and three 3.5-mm sockets. In its turn, network facilities are backed by Realtek RTL8111GR controller. Connectivity options embrace one RJ-45 port, one DVI video port, two PS/2 ports, and four USB ports for peripherals (both v 2.0 and v 3.0).

Scythe to Introduce Monochrome Pro and Monochrome Value CPU Coolers

Scythe, an outstanding developer of prime-quality hardware solutions, announces its newest elaborations: the Monochrome Pro and Monochrome Value CPU coolers. Both products are differentiated by truly small-sized dimensions and can be incorporated into the most compact PC cases. The couple supports the latest Intel’s processors, which TDP level does not go beyond 95 W. So far, there is no information about the release date and pricing, however, Scythe promises to unveil the data in the short run.

In terms of framework, CPU cooler Scythe Monochrome Pro consists of an aluminum heatsink and a single fan. It features 112x112x62 mm dimensions and is compatible with Intel LGA 1150/1155/1156 platforms. Running at 800-2800 RPM, it is able to produce up to 52.98 CFM airflow (the minimal airflow index equals to 14.83 CFM). When running at low pace, the noise level stays at the minimal level of 10.2 dB; still, even when the rotational speed achieves its maximum, the noise does not …
