Official Release of Gigabyte Sumo Platinum Power Supply Units

Gigabyte, in cooperation with CWT contractors, is going to debut with a new line of products: Sumo Platinum PSUs. The line will consists of three models of 450 W, 650 W and 1000 W power. All of them will boast a bright design (the combination of black and red hues), the employment of APUs from AMD, and high efficiency level, verified by 80Plus Platinum certificate. In addition, their layout will embrace high-quality Japanese capacitors, Active PFC and a reliable security system.



Sumo Platinum units correspond to ATX12V v2.31 and EPS12V v2.92 requirements. They are equipped with six sockets for the connection of PCI Express Power (6+2)-pin connectors and with dedicated nodes that prevent PSU damage due to short circuit, overvoltage or current intensity. Models of 450 W and 650 W power are furnished with efficient fans of 120 mm dimensional type, based on hydraulic dynamic bearing.

Next year TSMC will start manufacturing the first 20nm chips

The Taiwanese company TSMC confirmed its intention to start production of chips using 20 nm technological processes in 2013. However, for now the company does not plan its production on an industrial scale and will release the first chips in a limited quantities, giving them a total of 1% of production capacity. According to the head of the company, the mass production of semiconductor chips with this technology will not begin until 2014.



Meanwhile TSMC Company is going to produce only one version of the chip, which will be able to enter into the wide range of devices, from smart phones with low-power to high-performance graphics cards.
