You've probably seen the modern TVs with dynamic backlight called Ambilight, developed by Philips. The essence of its work is to highlight the space behind the TV in different combinations of colours, depending on the events happening on the screen.

A new development called PaintPack is presented. This model is intended to implement the same idea as the technology of Ambilight, but allows to «light around» any computer monitor. A device called PaintPack is a simpler version in a small box with ten cable-trains, which have bright LEDs at the ends. These LEDs are placed evenly around the perimeter of the back of the monitor, and provide illumination in accordance with what is happening at the moment on the screen. Microsoft to Come Out with Surface Studio All-in-One PC

Microsoft has unveiled its first all-in-one PC – Microsoft Surface Studio. Featuring 28-inch PixelSense touch-screen with 4500x3000 pixels resolution, the new-comer is primarily targeting designers, animators and other graphics specialists. The display features 3:2 aspect ratio & 192 PPI. Besides, it offers multi-touch facilities (up to 10 simultaneous touches), supporting calibration in Adobe sRGB & DCI-P3 color environments (there is a possibility to switch between them).



It should be noted that the hardware is housed within the block’s base. The stand provides for multiple adjustments in order to achieve the ultimate viewing experience. The model is developed on Intel Core i5/i7 Skylake CPU which is accompanied by 8/16/32 GB RAM and either Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M (2 GB) or Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M (4 GB) GDDR5 graphics.

Biostar G330 SSD Drives Are Compatible with Desktop PCs, Laptops and Ultrabooks

The Biostar Co. has announced SSD drives of the G330 Series, which are compatible with desktops, standard notebooks, as well as ultrabooks, operated by Windows, macOS and Linux.



These storage devices are performed in the 2.5-inch form factor. The case is 6.8 mm in thickness.The specialties by Biostar are manufactured with the use of 3D TLC NAND flash memory microchips from Micron and the SMI 2258 controller. The default Serial ATA 3.0 interface allows to connect the SSD to the computer.


The Biostar G330 line incorporates samples of 128, 256 and 512 GB capacity. The read response time claimed equals to 560 MB/sec (in the minor version) and 565 MB/sec (in the two other versions). The ultimate writing speed is 500 MB/sec and 515 MB/sec respectively.


The 128 GB Biostar G330 SSD costs $60. The models of 256 and 512 GB capacity will be available at the price of $100 and $170.
