Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro OC is Available for Preorder

Sapphire is about to launch the first modification of AMD’s graphics adapter – the Radeon RX 480. The new-comer, entitled Radeon RX 480 Nitro OC, is already available for preorder at the price tag of $322. The PCB, as well as the integrated cooling system, employs a modified design. The ‘OC’ postfix implies that the card has been overclocked to provide for a better performance.

Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro OC comes equipped with AMD Polaris 10 GPU (14 nm, FinFet, GCN). It features 2304 stream processors, 32 ROPs & 144 TMUs. The presumptive GPU clock frequency might achieve 1350 MHz. At the same time, memory subsystem hasn’t been modified: 8 GB of GDDR5 are supposed to run at 2.0/8.0 GHz (base/dynamic) frequency.

The 2-slot cooling system employs a few heatpipes, a large aluminum heatsink, a stiffening plate at the reverse side, and a couple of 100-mm fans. The latter are able to operate in passive mode when GPU temperature is low. Moreover, the model boasts the …

A Triplet of Waterblocks for Titan Z Graphics Solutions from EK Water Blocks

EK Water Blocks, a well-known Slovenian manufacturer of enthusiast-level liquid coolers for GPUs, has just introduced a triplet of waterblocks for the newly arrived Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan Z adapters. The EK-FC Titan Z – Nickel, EK-FC Titan Z – Nickel (Original CSQ) and EK-FC Titan Z – Acetal + Nickel models are sure to provide the maximal cooling at the highest frequencies both for dual- GPUs and memory chips. All the blocks come with a transparent acrylic cover and a lid from POM ACETAL plastic.

EK-FC Titan Z waterblocks are attributed to full-cover solutions. This implies that they efficiently remove heat not only from graphics cores, but also from GDDR5 memory chips, as well as from voltage regulators of VRM subsystem. Areas in direct contact with the GPUs are equipped with micro-channels of 0.7 mm width. The blocks maintain resistance to the coolant stream; hence, they might be employed along with low-power pumps.

The waterblocks features copper nickel-plated …

Gigabyte Showcases GA-Z170X Gaming 3 Mainboard

Gigabyte expands its line of gaming products with a new ATX motherboard, entitled GA-Z170X Gaming 3. The key peculiarity ascribed to the model is the support for the latest Intel Skylake-S CPU (14 nm) with LGA 1151 socket. The new-comer takes Intel Z170 chipset as the basis and draws power via 24-pin ATX as well as 8-pin EPS power sockets. Besides, the board belongs to the mainstream customer segment, so its price won’t go higher than $188.

Gigabyte GA-Z170X Gaming 3 is furnished with 7-phase VRM, four slots for DDR4-3400 MHz RAM (two-channel) of up to 64 GB capacity, a pair of PCIe 3.0 x16 slots for the installation of graphics cards (support for CrossFireX and SLI configurations), a single PCIe 3.0 x4 slot, and three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots.

Storage subsystem might be organized due to six SATA III ports (bandwidth – 6 Gb/sec), three SATA Express ports (bandwidth – up to 16 Gb/sec), and a couple of M.2 slots with bandwidth index up to 32 Gb/sec.

In addition, this …
