Thermaltake Enters the Market with NiC L31 and L32 CPU Coolers

Thermaltake Technology has just started shipping a pair of budgetary CPU coolers from NiC series. Entitled NiC L31 and NiC L32, these two models are compatible with all updated Intel and AMD platform motherboards. In keeping with the manufacturer, the new-comers will not obstruct the mounting of memory modules, due to their well-considered framework. Hence, they consist of small-sized heatsinks, three U-shape heatpipes (8 mm), and a base that is in direct contact with the CPU.

The first model, NiC L31 (codename: CL-P001-AL12RE-A), features 140x128x40 mm dimensions and weighs 530 g. The integrated 120 mm fan might operate in various speed modes – from 500 RPM to 1800 RPM – thanks to the support for PWM technology. It produces up to 70.99 CFM and dissipates up to 160 W power.

At the same time, at the minimal speed mode it generates only 18 dB noise, however at the ultimate rotations this index rises to 34.8 dB. According to the results of multiple tests, this fan is …

Meeting New Gaming Memory Kits AMD Radeon RG2133

A couple of days ago AMD introduced a new series of DDR3 memory kits within the boundaries of AMD Unified Gaming Strategy development. Codenamed AMD Radeon RG2133, the new-comers are available in two- and four-channel kits, the overall capacity of which equals to 16 GB and 32 GB correspondingly. The most striking feature is that they can be employed as on AMD, so on Intel platforms, supporting AMD AMP and Intel XMP technologies for improved settings optimization.

The other peculiarity is that these memory kits run at 2133 MHz frequency. On such conditions there is always a chance to dramatically increase the system performance up to 22% (with APU AMD A10 on board). Herewith, voltage index equals to 1.65 V, while latency index looks the following way: 10-11-11-30. Memory chips are cooled down by the forces of a high-quality aluminum heatspreader. Its design is called to ensure a stable operation in response to the increased frequencies.

There is one more advantageous …

Gigabyte GR-EZI04H: NAS for Home-Based Platforms

Gigabyte is going to release a new data storage intended specifically for home use. Codenamed GR-EZI04H, this NAS is housed in a black casing and features 220x183x146 mm dimensions. The storage is based on the combination of two-core Intel Atom D2500 processor (clock frequency 1.8 GHz) and Intel ICH10R south bridge. It is estimated for four 3.5-inch drives of up to 3TB in capacity each. Each of the drives should employ SATA II interface.

The overall volume of DDR3 RAM (1066 MHz) can achieve 4GB. This data storage is controlled by Windows Home Server 2011 or Embedded Linux OS platforms. All interface in/outputs are located on the rear panel. Here one can find a couple of USB 2.0 and the same number of USB 3.0 ports, a single D-Sub port, one DC input, and two more RJ-45 sockets. In addition, the storage is able to support two gigabit Ethernet connections.

GR-EZI04H is delivered with two pre-installed 60 mm fans that are called to provide for an optimal thermal environment. …
