Meet New Series of 120-/140-mm SilentWings 3 Fans from Be Quiet!

Be Quiet! announces the upcoming release of a new series of fans, entitled SilentWings 3. The lineup will consist of 4x 120-mm & 4x 140-mm items. All greenhorns are based on fluid dynamic bearing, estimated for 300.000 hours of foolproof operation. The fans employ either 3-pin or 4-pin power connectors and might run at 12V voltage index.

Be Quiet! SilentWings 3 items have a dual purpose: they can be used as system fans and as a part of CPU cooling. The 3-pin models come equipped with an adapter for the reduction of voltage from 12V to 7-5V; due to this, their noise level dwindles down to the minimal level. In contrast, the 4-pin solutions support PWM technology.

All models are fitted with a 3-phase 6-polar motor which ensures low power consumption & inconsiderable vibrations. A unique shape of blades allows for the enhancing of airflow volume; at the same time, the incorporation of a slash frame promotes for the increase of the static pressure. Moreover, new mounts help in …

Seagate Launches the 5th Generation FireCuda SSHD

Seagate has expanded its lineup of hybrid drives with the 5th-generation FireCuda SSHD. The greenhorns are based on shingled magnetic recording technology (SMR), rather than perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR). The SMR enables the partial superposition of data tracks; it ensures the ultimate record density. The models are backed by a 5-year’s limited warranty.

Seagate FireCuda series is introduced by 5 models, developed in 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch formats. Their capacity varies from 500 GB to 2 TB. The drives employ MLC flash memory (8 GB) as well as SATA 6 Gb/sec external interface. The spindle rotates at 5400 RPM.

The average data read speed makes up 140 MB/sec with 2.5-inch models & 156 MB/sec with 3.5-inch items. The latter offer also up to 190 MB/sec of the average read speed from flash memory; besides, it takes only 8.5-9.5 ms for the chips to search for the needed data on Read/Write operations. To add, the new FireCuda is thought to consume between 1.7-6.7 W power.

HIS Adds 7770 iCooler to Its Graphics Cards Arsenal

A new graphics card of an average efficiency has appeared in the arsenal of HIS manufacturers. Codenamed HIS 7770 iCooler (H777FN1G), the card is targeted those gamers who would like to receive a dual effect: the possibility to play all up-dated games and to satisfy all other graphics requirements for a reasonable price.

Model 7770 iCooler is based on AMD Cape Verde TX GPU, developed under 28 nm technological process and built on Graphics Core Next micro-architecture. It involves ten computing blocks and 640 current processors. The processing unit is expected to operate at the reference 1000 MHz clock frequency. The integrated GPU is accompanied by 1GB of GDDR5 memory which employs 128 bus; its nominal clock frequency starts at 1125MHz, while its effective frequency might achieve the margin of 4500MHz.

HIS 7770 iCooler employs PCI Express 3.0 x16 internal interface. A set of external video interfaces consists of HDMI, D-Sub and Dual-DVI ports that are able to ensure the …
