Meet the Most High-Powered Server GPUs from AMD

AMD has just released two new graphic processing units intended for solid server systems: AMD FirePro S7000 and S9000 models. According to the claimed specifications, both models are the most high-powered server GPUs currently available in the market. Their major destination is the application in different fields, including multimedia content editing and CAD. S7000 and S9000 can be used as graphics solutions in the complement of large data-centers and within the infrastructure of virtual desktops.

Both units are developed on an advanced Graphics Core Next architecture and support progressive brand technologies, like ZeroCore Power and PowerTune. Those technologies are called to reduce power consumption by almost 95% in idle mode. In addition, those GPUs support virtualization technologies designed by Microsoft, VMware, and some other developers. Both products are equipped with passive cooling system. High level of operating speed makes the models applicable in the most voluminous networks.

AMD FirePro S7000 model is characterized by the availability of 1280 current processors and the integration of GDDR5 memory type of 4GB volume capacity and 256-bit interface. It takes a single expansion slot on the motherboard. The level of TDP equals to 150W. This model is equipped with a single DisplayPort video output. GPU clock frequency approximates 700 MHz, while memory clock frequency achieves the margin of 4800 MHz. The maximal performance of this graphics adapter is estimated at 2.4TFL.

To continue, AMD FirePro S9000 takes two expansion slots on the motherboard. It consists of 1792 current processors and is furnished with GDDR5 memory type of 6 GB volume capacity and 384-bit interface. The maximal performance is estimated at 4TFL. The level of TDP equals to 225W. At the same time, GPU clock frequency fluctuates within the measures of 900 MHz and memory frequency – 5500 MHz.
