Western Digital introduced its new hard drives series with SATA 6 Gb/sec interface. The new series, codenamed WD Red, has been developed specifically for the employment in NAS servers of basic level, which involve up to 5 bays and are destined for the home or office use. WD Red hard drives belong to the 'Power of Choice' series and are adapted exactly for the NAS servers of basic level. The company's designers understand the variety of requirements each customer might have and offer the most convenient approach to the home- or office-based solutions. WD has implemented a dedicated color-coded scheme to differentiate their line of 'Power of Choice' products: WD Blue, WD green, WD Black, and the innovative WD Red. Hence, the selection of the needed solution is facilitated by the color-coded approach.
