The Upcoming Release of Canvio Desk HDD from Toshiba

Toshiba Corporation is about to release a new external HDD series with USB 3.0 interface, codenamed Canvio Desk. Such information has been voiced by the company's press-service. The new series is represented by HDDs of 1TB, 2TB and 3TB volume capacities. One of the major peculiarities ascribed to Canvio Desk models is their compact dimensions; at the same time, these HDDs are able to offer huge capacity and stability of operation.



Toshiba Canvio Desk is delivered in black casing and provides for double localization on a desk. This HDD can be located as vertically so horizontally to ensure the utmost convenience of utilization. The other peculiarity of Canvio Desk drives is the availability of fanless passive cooling system. The implemented USB 3.0 interface is destined to ameliorate all attached operations, starting from data transfer and finishing with backup activity time.

The Latest Eisbaer Nonmaintained Cooling Systems Series from Alphacool Includes Six Products with 120/140/240/280/360/420 mm Heatsinks

Alphacool introduced its latest Eisbaer line of nonmaintained cooling systems for processors. This series offers six products differing in heatsinks’ dimensions (120/140/240/280/360/420 mm) and possessing one, two or three 120 or 140 mm fans. For higher productivity, all novelties are equipped with copper (not aluminium) radiators.



360 and 420 mm heatsinks may be regarded as overeffective for one CPU, that’s why the manufacturer supplied Eisbaer cooling systems tubes with a quick disconnect, allowing adding a water block for the Eiswolf GPX-Pro graphics card. The processor is chilled by a copper water block with the 50 х 50 mm base and a low-noise ceramic bearing pump, operating at 2,600 rpm and producing the 70 l/h coolant stream.

Toshiba Preps New VX500 Series of Solid-State Drives

Toshiba America Electronic Components is glad to present a new series of SSDs, developed under OCZ brand. The VX500 models are targeting mainstream desktops & laptops, offering the most comprehensive storage solutions. The drives are designed in a standard 2.5-inch form-factor with SATA 6 Gb/sec interface. Solidity is backed by a 5-year’s limited warranty.



OCZ VX500 SSDs are based on Toshiba MLC chips (15 nm) which are characterized by a more conspicuous reliability than TLC chips. Hence, the items are an optimal tool for content creation, writing & reading info, downloading files, etc. The drives also employ Toshiba TC358790 controller.
