Zalman ZM-GVM Introduces ZM-GVM Bronze PSUs

Zalman adds another series of power supply units to its portfolio. The ZM-GVM series is represented so far by three semi-modular units of 500 W, 600 W and 700 W capacity. They correspond to ATX12V 2.31 standard and boast 80Plus Bronze certificate since their efficiency achieves 88%. The new-comers are able to operate in a wide range of input voltages (115-230 V), featuring only a single +12V rail.

Zalman ZM-GVM units employ dual forward converter as the basis. Semi-modular design presupposes permanent fixture of the main cables and demountable construction of optional cables. Efficient cooling is the task for a low-noise 120-mm fan, whereas sustainability of the units is entrusted to the advanced protection system.

SHARKOON company has presented new and more powerful external boxes for the installation

of five and eight 2.5 — or 3.5-inch hard drives with interface SATA I / II / III. The model

SHARKOON 5-Bay RAID-Station allows the organization of RAID-arrays on 0/1/3/5/10 levels,

and at SHARKOON 8-Bay RAID-Station the support of RAID 00/30/50 is realized. The 8-Bay

RAID Station supports such memory modes: Clone, Large, Clean/Single.

Buffalo Announces HD-PCFU3-C Wearables

Buffalo Technology is about to release its newest line of wearable hard drives. Codenamed HD-PCFU3-C, the products will be available in three capacity versions: 500 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB. All of them allow as pure black so pure white exterior design. The models will be backed by 1 year limited warranty.

The Buffalo HD-PCFU3-C external HDs are housed in solid aluminum cases and equipped with a high-speed USB 3.0 interface. The latter might be used both for data transfer as well as charge-in purposes; put it otherwise, the user will be saved from the necessity to buy an additional AC adaptor.

Pricewise, the cheapest solutions are 500 GB HD-PCF500U3-BC and HD-PCF500U3-WC with the price tag of $90. The HD-PCF1.0U3-BWC and HD-PCF1.0U3-BBC of 1 TB capacity will cost about $110, whereas their senior companions, the PCF2.0U3-GBC and HD-PCF2.0U3-GWC of 2 TB capacity, will go as high as $165. Shipping is to start in early January 2015.
