Solid-State Drive Intel 330 Series 180GB Review

Some two-three years ago solid-state drives were supposed to be a luxury rather than a necessity. Not every enthusiast showed predisposition to spend a few hundreds dollars to enhance his PC performance. Nonetheless, time passed and SSD technologies rapidly erupted into corporate and home fields, serving as a mighty storage means to replace traditional HDDs. They are currently the most wanted piece of hardware that offers better reliability, faster speeds, as well as larger volumes. Besides, their today’s price falls within average customer’s possibilities. Intel keeps the wave in this industry too, delivering high-end products for various audiences. Intel 330 Series 180GB SSD, one of its latest releases, is a direct image of quality and volume combined with a reasonable price.

General Peculiarities

Deepcool Introduces a Universal IceEdge 400 E CPU Cooler

Deepcool Industries, a well-known Chinese designer of multifarious cooling solutions, is going to launch its newest universal CPU cooler, entitled IceEdge 400 E (Elite Edition). The new-comer has got a tower-type design and features 100x86x125.5 mm dimensions.

This model is predestined to be incorporated into all contemporary platforms, including Intel’s LGA775/1150/1155/1156 and AMD’s 754/939/940/FM1/FM2/AM2(+)/AM3(+). Moreover, it is able to cool down rather hot processors, which TDP level reaches 130 W.

Deepcool IceEdge 400 E consists of a heatsink block, featuring thin aluminum plates, four copper heatpipes that support direct contact technology, and a single 92 mm fan. The latter is based on a fluid bearing and develops speed up to 2200 RPM. The maximal noise level it is producing approximates 26 dB. The fan is fixed due to wire spikes.

Pricing and release date are still unknown.

Zalman Intros Three New Graphics Cards with VF1500 Cooler

Zalman, a well-known manufacturer of CPU coolers, PC cases and graphics solutions, introduces three new graphics card models, codenamed GeForce GTX 600 D5 OC VF1500, GeForce GTX 660 Ti D5 VF1500 and GeForce GTX 660 Ti D5 OC VF1500. All three models are equipped with a brand two-slot VF1500 cooler. Its framework consists of four heatpipes which transfer heat from GPU surface to an aluminum heatsink. This heatsink is accompanied by a couple of 92 mm fans, the maximal rotational speed of which achieves 1500 RPM. If compared with a reference cooler, VF1500 reduces GPU operational temperature at 25 degrees (from 81 to 56 degrees), producing 10 dB less noise (26 dB vs 36 dB).

The first model is based on Nvidia GK106 processor, designed under 28 nm technological process. It is characterized by heightened clock frequencies: nominal 1006 MHz against reference 980 MHz, and dynamic 1059 MHz against reference 1033 MHz.

The other two models, GeForce GTX 660 Ti D5 VF1500 and GeForce GTX …
