Zalman ZM-GVM Introduces ZM-GVM Bronze PSUs

Zalman adds another series of power supply units to its portfolio. The ZM-GVM series is represented so far by three semi-modular units of 500 W, 600 W and 700 W capacity. They correspond to ATX12V 2.31 standard and boast 80Plus Bronze certificate since their efficiency achieves 88%. The new-comers are able to operate in a wide range of input voltages (115-230 V), featuring only a single +12V rail.



Zalman ZM-GVM units employ dual forward converter as the basis. Semi-modular design presupposes permanent fixture of the main cables and demountable construction of optional cables. Efficient cooling is the task for a low-noise 120-mm fan, whereas sustainability of the units is entrusted to the advanced protection system.

Gammaxx S40: a New Budgetary CPU Cooler from Deepcool

Deepcool is going to amplify its product line with a new CPU cooler known as Gammaxx S40. This model features 120x81.3x143 mm dimensions and a traditional for contemporary cooling systems framework. But its recommended price of €25 is going to become the major attraction for the potential audience. Moreover, due to the availability of various fixing clips, Gammaxx S40 demonstrates support for various actual desktop platforms, including Intel's Socket LGA 2011, 1366, 1156, 1155, 775, and AMD's FM1, FM2, AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+.



Deepcool Gammaxx S40 consists of six copper heat pipes covered by a nickel layer, a clamping plate that functions also as an additional heatsink, a set of aluminum plates with perforations, and a fan. IBM, Intel, AMD, Cray, HPE and NVIDIA Have Been Awarded a Grant for Exaflop Supercomputer Development

The most effective supercomputer is launched in China today. The system, called Sunway TaihuLight, operates locally developed processors. The ultimate Sunway TaihuLight productivity is 125 petaflops. In 2020 China plans to generate the first system in the world with a capacity overcoming one exaflops. At present the USA stays behind, however American supercomputers’ energy performance is significantly higher.



The US Department of Energy has established a $258 million grant for cost effective exaflop supermachines construction. Six American companies (IBM, Intel, AMD, Cray, HPE and NVIDIA) won it. Now they are to create an architecture, able to consume 25–30 MW at one exaflop productiveness. Such a system’s deployment is to take place in 2021. Apart from funds committed, each member company of the Exascale Computing Project program will put up its own means, constituting around 40% of DOE’s funds.
