PNY Introduces New Prevail 5K SSD Series

PNY Technologies, an established manufacturer of varied PC hardware components, expands its production line with a new SSD series, entitled Prevail 5K. Currently, the series counts three models of 480 GB, 240 GB, and 120 GB capacities. Extremely thin case (7 mm only) is their key distinctive feature. Similar to other solutions from Prevail line, the new 5K are positively characterized by an appropriate correlation of reliability-performance-price tags.

Solid-state drives PNY Prevail 5K accommodate only high-quality components and take NAND eMLC memory chips as their basis. Due to outstanding performance showings and small-sized dimensions, the drives are the best solution for CAD/CAM workstations, RAID storages, cloud devices, and server stations.

All the models employ SATA III interface and feature some outstanding data transfer speeds parameters. Unfortunately, PNY does not provide so far any information about the exact sequential and random Read/Write speed. Neither …

The High-End M.2 ADATA XPG SX7000 Drive with a PCI Express 3.0 x4 Interface

The novelty by ADATA – XPG SX7000 – has recently joined the company’s model line of high-speed solid-state drives. This product is performed in the M.2 2280 format and operates on the base of 3D NAND TLC chips and SMI controller. The manufacturer offers four capacity options, namely 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB.

The PCI Express 3.0 x4 interface and the NVMe 1.2 specification make ADATA XPG SX7000 highly efficient. It ensures the 1,800 MB/s of reading and 850 MB/s of writing speed. The random performance at 4 KB data handling corresponds to 130,000 and 140,000 IOPS. Thus, these rates are much higher than those of standard HDD and SATA SSD, which provides a perfect system responsiveness, as well as high productivity.

Additionally the ADATA XPG SX7000 SSD features the DRAM memory cache and supports SLC Caching, LDPC ECC, RAID Engine and Data Shaping. The 5-year warranty is supplied.

Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro OC is Available for Preorder

Sapphire is about to launch the first modification of AMD’s graphics adapter – the Radeon RX 480. The new-comer, entitled Radeon RX 480 Nitro OC, is already available for preorder at the price tag of $322. The PCB, as well as the integrated cooling system, employs a modified design. The ‘OC’ postfix implies that the card has been overclocked to provide for a better performance.

Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro OC comes equipped with AMD Polaris 10 GPU (14 nm, FinFet, GCN). It features 2304 stream processors, 32 ROPs & 144 TMUs. The presumptive GPU clock frequency might achieve 1350 MHz. At the same time, memory subsystem hasn’t been modified: 8 GB of GDDR5 are supposed to run at 2.0/8.0 GHz (base/dynamic) frequency.

The 2-slot cooling system employs a few heatpipes, a large aluminum heatsink, a stiffening plate at the reverse side, and a couple of 100-mm fans. The latter are able to operate in passive mode when GPU temperature is low. Moreover, the model boasts the …
