Aerocool to Advance Project 7-Chassis 1

Aerocool has just announced the release of a new stylish chassis, codenamed Project 7-Chassis 1. The greenhorn is distinguished not only by a catchy exterior but also by a spacious interior. The case houses a side window, made of a tempered glass, as well as a LED backlight on the front panel; the latter is regulated by means of dedicated buttons on the top facet.

Featuring 550x446.4x244.6 mm dimensions, Aerocool Project 7-Chassis 1 is ready to welcome motherboards of mini-ITX/micro-ATX/ATX format with up to 7 expansion slots. There are six slots in total for the mounting of drives: a pair of 3.5-inch bays and four 2.5-inch items. The layout allows for the integration of a 165-mm high CPU cooler and a 400-mm long video card (+ a standard ATX PSU).

The model comes equipped with a single pre-installed 120-mm fan on the rear plate. There is a possibility to enhance cooling with the help of five additional fans, mounted on the front and top panels. The user is able to manage …

Aerocool Cruisestar Advance Case Overview

Many manufacturers of budget-friendly PC cases adore expanding their line-up by a banal change of the plastic case kit without dramatic changes in the filling or framing structure of the chassis. The Aerocool Company is also saddening with this approach, although, for the sake of justice, it is worth noting that in recent years this has happened quite rarely. Nevertheless, the subject of today's review – the Cruisestar Advance is just the result of a change in appearance based on the simplest PGS-V series frames. Let’s see what the consequences of this metamorphosis from the point of view of the ordinary buyer are.

Overview of the Aerocool P7-C1 Midi Tower Case (Part II)

Main Features

According to the manufacturer’s specifications, the case may accommodate very large components: a video card up to 375 mm (or 400 mm in the absence of the front fans) and a power supply of up to 200 mm in length. CPU cooler may be up to 165 mm high.

Despite the construction of Aerocool P7-C1, the power supply is placed in the most common way, and the board is set to the standard six-millimetre racks. The thumbscrews for fixing it are not supplied.

Let’s have a closer look onto the drive installation. The carriers for 3.5" storage devices are simply stretched on hard drives. They are to be straightened a little to be installed. The 2.5" storage devices are attached to the carriers’ by cogs, and it is possible to mount them not only to the ends, but to the ground as well.

The carriers with the mounted hard drive are simply retracted and sit in place securely enough. And the solid-state drives are fixed to the carriers by thumbscrews.
