The French ARCHOS Co. adds a new device to its product range. The point of the talk is a budget-friendly Vision 215 monoblock, which is quite an extraordinary device. 



At first glance the novelty resembles a standard stylish monitor with thin bezels. The thickness of the display is 6.85 mm only. The diagonal of its Full HD panel with the 1920 х 1080 resolution is 21.5”.


Owing to the platform applied, this All-in-One device costs not much – 300 euro. It is built on the Cherry Trail generation Intel Atom x5-Z8350 CPU. The processor features four cores, operating at 1.44–1.92 GHz frequencies. At the same time the PC is supplied with the 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM and the 32 GB eMMC ROM, which may be expanded by microSD cards. Shuttle is well-known for its nettops, cases and barebone systems. In the meantime it presented its latest product – a mini PC under the X1 code name.



Despite the fact that a nettop cannot function as a gaming system, a pilot Shuttle X1 hybrid is developed to prove a negative. The novelty will operate the NVIDIA graphics accelerator, support VR content and 4K video.


Reportedly, Shuttle X1 will be based on the unidentified Intel processor. Vendors assure that by the time of release the chipset chosen will be one of the most innovative Intel solutions for devices of such a format. Customers should also expect Intel Optane support and presence of many interfaces for peripherals and accessories connection on the X1 chassis.

The F12C Optical Chassis joined the Streacom F12C Series. This sandblasted anodized product is manufactured out of 4 mm aluminium in two colour versions – black and silver. Possessing the 440 x 320 x 184 mm dimensions, the framework weighs 4.4 kg.



F12C Optical allows to fit in an ATX, mini-ITX or mATX motherboard and up to seven 310 mm expansion cards. Simultaneously, the ATX board can be accompanied by five 3.5-inch and two 2.5-inch drives, and the mini-ITX card – by twelve 3.5-inch or twenty-four 2.5-inch drives. The specialty offers enough room for a 135 mm CPU cooler, an ATX power supply unit of any length, as well as for 80, 92, 120 and 140 mm fans.


The key specification is an opportunity to mount a 12.7 mm slot load optical drive. The front interface panel features a pair of USB 3.0 ports and an infrared sensor window, however, the supply kit doesn’t contain an IR detector.
