Meet a Pair of High-Efficiency M6 and M.2 SSDs from Plextor

Plextor, an established data storage manufacturer from Japan, announces the release of two new solid-state drive series – the M6 and the M.2. Both new-comers are marked by some outstanding efficiency facilities and completely new design. The M6 SSDs are developed in 2.5-inch design but are housed in ultrathin aluminum cases of 5 mm depth only. They are based on Marvell 88SS9187 controller and MLC NAND flash-memory of Toggle type (19 nm technological process).



The M6 drives feature high-speed SATA III 6 Gb/sec interface and support Plextor TrueSpeed technology. It should be noted that these SSDs are thought to support up to 1 GB RAM – DDR2-800 or DDR3-800 — used as cache. With the attempt to satisfy the needs of diverse customer audiences, Plextor is going to release the M6 modifications: M6 Pro models for high-performance tasks and M6S for ordinary users.

Antec Replenishes High Current Gamer M Series with Two New PSUs

Antec decided to expand its renowned High Current Gamer M series of power supply units with two new models. Codenamed HCG-750M and HCG-850M, the units are characterized by modular cable connectivity and rather high level of efficiency (up to 81% in 230V networks). Not for nothing this couple is honored by 80Plus Bronze certificate that vindicates their prime-quality. It must be noted that existent internal framework is totally the work of Seasonic, Antec’s contractor.



Both new-comers are equipped with four PCI Express Power (6+2)-pin cables and support 10/12/14/16-contact power sockets. The layout consists of two virtual +12V rails, Active PFC mechanism, and high-class Japanese capacitors. HCG-750M allows for the maximal loading on +12V rail of 62A at 744W, whereas HCG-850M allows a bit higher loading of 70A at 840W.

Lian Li to Release a Space-Saving PC-Q33 Chassis

Lian Li, a well-known hardware manufacturer from Taiwan, is ready to marvel the audience by one more offbeat PC case: the PC-Q33. The model is developed in a space-saving mini-ITX standard with 229x328x240 mm dimensions. Despite frugal size, an overall case capacity equals to 29.2 liters. This chassis features a quite laconic design, although will be available in two coating variations: black and silver. The implementation of a lock on the frontal panel is thought to be the model’s basic peculiarity.



The PC-Q33 is consistent with mini-ITX and mini-DTX motherboards and supports the installation of 220 mm graphics cards, as well as 180 mm CPU coolers. At the same time, the maximal length of the power supply unit should not be more than 200 mm. Internal layout presupposes the mounting of three 2.5-inch drives and a couple of 3.5-inch drives.
