Kingston Launches KC300 SSDs with TCG Opal 1.0 Support

Kingston Digital Inc., an outstanding developer of memory and storage solutions, has recently launched its newest SSD series, which is totally compliant with Trusted Computing Group Opal 1.0 (hereinafter TCG). Codenamed KC300, the drives are mainly targeted the companies that are looking to upgrade and enhance their security systems. Kingston KC300 are designed in 2.5-inch form-factor and incorporate SATA III interface (backwards compatibility with SATA II). Ultra-wide monitors with a large diagonal over the past couple of years that we have gradually become accustomed to, but in its majority such models were purely gaming ones – and it is widely known that there are no higher requirements for image quality to such monitors. LG 38WK95C – is a "universal" home model, which is suitable for both games and video, and even for work with colors - thanks to the factory calibration.

 

 

Design concept

The monitor is made in a frameless style, but it still has a thin frame framing the screen - it is a strip of metallic color, encircling the body around the perimeter and distinguishing the "blackness" of the display and white glossy plastic on the back side.

A few words about…


   The first drives of the line with this name appeared in 2015. They were very similar to the 840 Evo, instead of planar crystals of 128 Gbps 32-layer 3D of the same capacity were used.

In the older model there is even the same tri-core MEX controller as in the 840 Evo, and the rest received dual-core, but improved MGX, working in combination with LPDDR2 memory with a frequency of 1066 MHz and a capacity of up to 1 GB. At the same time, the drive (like its predecessor) was positioned as a competitor to mid-range devices - at that time, mainly using MLC memory. However, even those had only a three- and not a five-year guarantee, which became the visiting card of the Evo family. Including, and appeared a little later modification of 2 TB - which at that time was a very serious value, so it required the emergence of a special controller MHX (at the same time, and DRAM-cache in this model was transferred to a faster LPDDR3-memory).
